Azhar Ali, Umar Akmal axed from both T20 and ODI squads

LAHORE: Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq announced the T20 and ODI squads for Pakistan's upcoming tour of the West Indies on Wednesday. Umar Akmal and Azhar Ali were dropped from both the ODI and T20 teams.

Umar Akmal was axed from both teams since he had failed the fitness test. Fakhar Zaman, Muhammad Nawaz, Imad Wasim, Sarfraz Ahmed and Ahmad Shahzad have been included in the T20 squad for the upcoming tour. Usman Shinwari, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Wahab Riaz and Hassan Ali also made the T20 squad.

Umar Akmal and Mohammad Amir have been dropped from the T20 squad. Inzamam-ul-Haq stated that he had decided to rest the left-arm pacer.

For the One Day International team, Asif Zakir, Imad Wasim, Wahab Riaz, Shadab Khan, Hassan Ali, Ahmad Shahzad, Mohammad Hafeez, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik and Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Asghar, Sarfraz Ahmed, Junaid Khan.

Former ODI captain Azhar Ali has been dropped from both the T20 and ODI squads. Leg-spinner Yasir Shah could also not make the squad for either teams.

Azhar ali is generally a very talented Test , and technical player not fully behind this call for axing him. Genuine ODI player. Certainly sad to see him axed after playing so many briliant knocks last year

Obviously when you are about to play India in 2-2.5 months time , you have to dismantle half your team

Inzimam Talking about fitness is a bit hipocritical , and I just could not help and laugh about it when he came on TV to talk about player fitness standards.

I think it would have been appropriate if the Coach was infront of TV and not Inzimam Ul Haq sends wrong message to fans. Fitness and Performance of players is Coach's responsibility

He was always on the Chubby side , and well known slow runner
