The visiting Azerbaijan delegation pledged its country’s solidarity with the Kingdom in restoring legitimacy in Yemen.
Saleh Heydarov, leader of the Azerbaijan parliamentary delegation, who met Shoura Council Deputy Speaker Amin Al-Jaafri here on Monday, said the Kingdom, under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, is pursuing a wise policy based on spreading peace and stability and working to resolve outstanding issues including the problem of legitimacy in Yemen.
Besides current regional issues, talks between the officials of the two parliamentary bodies were centered on improving bilateral relations.
Al-Jaafri pointed out that the Syrian problem also has to be resolved to maintain peace and security in the region.
Meanwhile, the Shoura Council called on the Ministry of Education to revise the syllabus of the Arabic language in the school curriculum to boost the morale of Arabic language learners.
The 29th session of the council was held Monday under the chairmanship of Al-Jaafri.
Speaking to reporters following the session, Assistant House Speaker Yahya bin Abdullah Al-Samaan said the syllabus should be designed in such a way that new language learners should be attracted to learning Arabic.
The council was going through a report presented during the session by Committee of Education and Scientific Research Chairman Mishal Al-Sulami in the light of the regular report of the Ministry of Education for the year 1434-35.
The house also said that it was in favor of giving administrative and financial independence to the departments of education in different parts of the Kingdom.
The council urged the Ministry of Education to coordinate with the Ministry of Civil Service to streamline job descriptions and create new jobs in medical, nutrition, mental health and administrative areas.
It also urged the Ministry of Finance and other concerned bodies to support the Ministry of Education in the implementation of the Council of Ministers’ decision related to the school health program.
However, the council rejected a recommendation of the committee to honor male and female teachers who die or sustain injuries in traffic accidents while traveling to and from schools to their homes.
