BAKU: Azerbaijan could be interested in purchasing Pakistani defence products, including the upgraded version of Pakistan’s JF-17 fighter aircraft.

PM Nawaz Sharif’s visit to the country is expected to strengthen cooperation in the military and defence sectors of the two nations.

Azerbaijan backs Pakistan on Kashmir

In November, a high-level delegation will come to Pakistan to attend the Defence-Expo scheduled be held in Karachi. The delegation will also visit defence production facilities in Pakistan to look into the possibility of buying defence-related products.

Pakistan has offered Azerbaijan several indigenously developed defence products, including the JF-17 fighter and Mushshaq trainer aircraft. At present, Pakistan is selling some conventional weaponry to the US, UK, Germany and some Far Eastern countries.

Other defence products offered include armoured and unarmoured vehicles, command and control systems, ammunition, body armour and personnel protection systems, and anti-aircraft defence systems.

Azerbaijan and Pakistan have already built a steady foundation for extensive cooperation in a number of different areas related to defence, security and trade.

PM Nawaz, during his visit, discussed ways of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in different areas.

Talking about his government’s economic policies, Premier Nawaz said its priority is to extend all possible facilities to the business community. He said his government has been in constant contact with the business community to address different issues and Pakistan’s exports have risen as a result.

Current aircraft inventory of AAF.
@Azeri440 Dont you think JFT will lift up ur airforce.

old numbers

MIG-21 has been retired
MIG-29 has been brought up to 18
SU-25 more than 30

as for helicopters, Azerbaijan bought more than 100 transport and attack helicopters
Azerbaijan now has 36 Mi-35Ms and around 60 Mi-24, around 10 to 20 have been upgraded to G level
and more than 100 Mi-17s

The UAV numbers are way off as well, Azerbaijan has one of the largest UAV fleets in the region :D

and no, MIG-29 will be upgraded and equipped with cruise missiles and etc. making it a nice solution until Turkish TFX arrives.
