India controlled NE just fine when there was a hostile govt in Bangladesh and insurgency was quite high. Leaving aside your pipe dream of an independent NE (there is no popular support for that in any of the NE states), how would Nepal and Bhutan get direct sea access without going through India?

রাজশাহী মহানগরীর নিউ গভ. ডিগ্রি কলেজ ছাত্রাবাসে তাণ্ডব চালিয়েছে ছাত্রলীগ। সোমবার মধ্যরাতে কলেজের শামসুদ্দিন ছাত্রাবাসে এ তাণ্ডব ঘটনা ঘটে। এ সময় ছাত্রলীগ কর্মীদের হামলায় ছাত্রদল ও ছাত্রশিবিরের কর্মীসহ অন্তত ৩০ শিক্ষার্থী আহত হন। গুরুতর অবস্থায় ৭ জনকে রাজশাহী মেডিকেল কলেজ (রামেক) হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়েছে।
তারা হলেন, একাদশ শ্রেণীর শিক্ষার্থী মনিরুল ইসলাম, ইসমাইল হোসেন, নাজমুল ইসলাম, জাফর, এবারের উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষার্থী এজাজ আহমেদ, তারিফ ও কর্নেল। এরা সবাই গুরুতর অবস্থায় হাসপাতালের ৩১ নম্বর ওয়ার্ডে চিকিত্সাধীন।
