What's new

Awami League, Hasina are more popular than BNP, Khaleda: US study

Then hasina should try her luck with a fair election. We will see who is more popular.
In BD leaders don't be popular with their good deeds , but they become popular because of hero worshipping nature of BD folks .

Bud, I was wondering is there any serious movement in BD to replace the BNP with something lot better?... since its clearly not working/effective enough against the treacherous BAL.

Whatever movement there might be against the fascist regime it's not yet clearly visible. JP is a party of regular turncoats so don't expect anything from them. The so-called civil society has placed their bet on BNP but there's serious disagreement within the BNP leadership. There's a group that wants to curb dynastic trends in BNP but the problem is the group itself is corrupt. This group has some kind of understanding with the fascist regime. They want the control of the party and their ultimate objective is some kind of a deal with the fascist regime in return for state and political privileges. So I have absolutely no faith in this alliance of the civil society and BNP. They talk a lot but don't take any decisive step to confront the regime. On the other hand, I think AL has already struck a deal with a tiny part of the Islamist movement. In a nut shell nothing is certain at this stage. Events could evolve violently very rapidly as vast majority of people are dead against this inhuman and repressive regime but there's no credible political force to guide them effectively. We are basically sitting in a tinder box, all it requires is a flicker and it will explode.

Every time people took to the streets Khaleda told them to return to their homes and now you are saying it's the responsibility of the people to oust hasina! Khaleda and her lieutenants should be tried for betrayal.

She was made fool by Hasina and false hope by international community. They told Khaleda to stop the movement because they told her that follow up election will take place soon after. Hasina backed out from her promise with the help of cow mata Bharat and Khaleda was let down by international community.

Khaleda shouldn’t have trusted the so called international community and should have continued with the movement until Hasina step down.

I am sure lesson was learned and new day ahead. Next time so called international community get middle finger. It’s coming soon. Bengali nationalists must be overthrown. No alternative left for Bd Muslims.

I will choose Al over corrupt, conservative and Razakar sympathiser BNP any day and every day.

Why isn't tarique coming back or more preciously why isn't Al forcing him to come back. I wanna see him behind the bars where he truly belongs.

You must not be Indian.

I just want BD to have a true nature to itself (society at large), not anything artificial imposed.

This is only way to pragmatic existence in the region.

Only if Indian politicians could have understand your point of view. There is a reason why Bd is not part of India. Indian politicians made a blunt mistake by giving all out support to BAL.

Someday BAL will be remove but Indian made enemy within Bd people. India will feel the pain for their selfish half baked decision.

She made her luck with intelligence, no need to try, lol

Not intelligent rather art of cunning and deception. Only work for short time but long term benefit is none. Hasina will see this before death.

BNP is just a name. It’s the ideology that won’t die anytime soon. However, Hasina killed BAL ideology.

I would point to yourself before you point to another. India simply did what's in her interests....it would simply not have worked if BD asserts its own identity and interests with enough force through its own people (if they are indeed in much contrast to India). Simply making India as be all end all bogeyman, just continues the problem within BD.

And we will not see much if any pain from BD (only bad one somewhat I can see are the illegals situation)...still very worth what we attempted and succeeded in. Pew survey still finds largely favourable attitude in BD to India. The consumption of say Indian bajaj motorcycles (to near exclusive nature) and 1+ million BD tourists (often medical related) to India each year now paints quite the picture on the ground.

Seriously just few donations of memorabilia from 1971 war and so many of you prostrate in thanks....that is a nature you lot have to change, not us.

Why did she believe false assurances? It is because she wanted an easy way out and this what BNP leaders always seek and this is what sinks their boat and the hopes of people with it. Even an illiterate man could tell what the outcome would be but she and party leaders could not, I call that sheer incompetence and lack of foresight.

Nope she did not learn the lesson, matter of fact she never will because she simply does not have what it takes. People were about to explode when she was apprehended and guess who put the water in it, Khaleda herself. You can praise her to death but I have seen enough stupidity of this lady and I'm not ashamed of pointing them out for the sake of the nation. Now AL is pushing for her daughters in law to be placed in her role as her life span seems almost over and it is not because they are very wise but because the LA leadership has calculated that most probably they'll also behave like Khalede once in control of BNP. Somebody will admire their look and they'll choose to believe even the most absurd idea. And I don't blame them because this is how most women are and this is why people like modi and netanyahu want women in power in Muslim states. Indira, Goldameyer are not the general rule, they are exceptional cases, so taking them as the general rule has dire consequences in Politics. Just look at those who preach women's empowerment. They chose a retard like trump over his female adversary though Hillery is definitely a thousand times more prudent than that moron. This is the reality.

I agree with 1st paragraph. It’s totally on us to be us and not copycats.

Last paragraph, I disagree. Let’s store that thought somewhere in our brain and wait for the next episode. Post dalal Hasina, shall we?
