Hi,

You asked the other poster for the claim----. Now why don't you provide a claim that it was not the truth----. Yu did not take his word for it---but you want your comments to be taken for granted.

Hi,

Actually they are surprised that we know as much as they do---and at times we have more of a grip than them.

Hi,

Do you really really understand what you just stated-----. The eagle symbol has a purpose----it is a message for someone-----as it is not a small picture---so this is not a discrete type of message---but as it is a large and clear picture---it is a very clear and direct message to the 'eagle'----.

Now---what message it is---I don't know----but it must have some significance of what it is displayed on.

The bird isn't an Eagle though, it's a falcon - the FC-31 is known as 鹘鹰 or Gyrfalcon, sometimes it's known as the Falcon Hawk (a falcon sub-genus that includes Gyrfalcons):

China unveils its brand new stealth fighter: the J-31 “Falcon Eagle”.

The J-31 is smaller than the J-20, from which it differs for the grey paint job and the presence of a colored emblem on the tails (in place of the typical red star) with the text 鹘鹰, Chinese for “Falcon Eagle”

*Falcon Eagle isn't a real bird though, it's a poorly translated version of the Falcon Hawk Subgenus - which includes the Gyrfalcon:

Hierofalcon

It's not a message, it's a representation of the aircraft's nickname - Gyrfalcon.

I dunno, I haven't seen falcon message on their J-20, J-10, F-7, what make new logo for J-31? I am sure there is something a great message without yellow star emblem.

@Transhumanist , you seem to have so many great knowledges, that's impressive. How come? :D

When you do something like this than talk... everything else is just hot air

Indian MIG 25 flies over Islamabad undetected.

It is understood that in May 1997 an Indian Air Force MiG-25RB overflew Pakistan. The aircraft entered Pakinstani airspace sub-sonically at around 65,000ft and was undetected. Then having overflown and photographed strategic installations near the capital, Islamabad, the
Indian%20MiG-25.jpg
aircraft turned back towards India. Perhaps to rub Pakistani’s noses in it, the Foxbat pilot decided to accelerate up to Mach 2 and dropped a large sonic boom as he exited Pakistani airspace. A number of Pakistani F-16As were scrambled, but had insufficient time to make an effective intercept. In 1991, India and Pakistan signed the ‘Prevention of Airspace Violations’ agreement, but as is so often the case with international agreements, when it suits one side to ignore them, then that’s exactly what they do.

It was detected and tracked too, but at that time NS Govt. did not allow PAF to engage those with SA-2s which were only option at that time to shoot down Mig-25s flying at very high altitude.

Hi,

So---if you were to walk onto a car dealership looking for a vehicle----I could tell you apart because you would be the one with a yellow pad / note book in your one hand and pencil in the other---. Won't be surprised if you were an engineer by profession.

Hi,

A lots of times kids are surprised when they find out that there parents also have sex / inter course----.

So----my son----life existed before you became knowledgeable----hehn----before this mig 25 flew over isloo----we were flying over india at our discretion during the late 60's and very early 70's----. Our spy planes that we got from the u s could fly higher than your mig---.

Yaar, Uncle Sam hasn't sell advanced technology to anyone. F-35 is only option available we can ask from Uncle Sam or we should ask China for J-20 maybe.

Sort of disappointed on J-31 (mini-mickey mouse), China has alot of works to do to catch up to F-35 standards.

Take a look closer
%2Bj-31%2Btest%2Bflight%2BChinese%2BF-60J31%2BShen%2BFei%2B(Falcon%2BEagle)%2Bfifth%2BGeneration%2BStealth%2BFighter%2BJet%2Bfrom%2Bits%2Bflight%2Bplaaf%2Bpakistan%2Bair%2Bforce%2Bpaf%2BZhuhai%2B2014%2B(4).jpg

Just flat piece of plastic and low-cost materials on black body with eagle symbol logo, that's weird.

The initial J-31 prototype is not a fully-fledged fighter aircraft but rather a technology demonstrator. The actual prototype which will incorporate key 5th-generation subsystems is rumored to debut in 2015.

Sir,
firstly, i am sorry i cannot give proof for something that DID NOT happened, this is pretty basic fact. Do you think i will be able to find a link stating that in 1982 the Ambassador was NOT TOLD something regarding no more free military hardware? One cannot give proof of martians not existing. I just stated that the author is just spicing things up to attack more readers. We were given free supplies for the war and once over there was no free lunch. You must be aware that the US also paid China for some weaponry that was channelized through Pakistan to Afghan forces against Soviet. That too may will have been mistaken for FREE MILITARY HARDWARE by the author. Once the US backed out, Chinese asked for money from Pakistan, again, this may be the confusion. However stating that up until 1982 China gave Pakistan everything for free and then they suddenly called the Ambassador and told that this wont happen in future and that was SHOCKING for the Pak administration as stated in that writing is a bit too much.

SECONDLY, i never asked by comments to be taken for granted, these are just comments, my personal point of view, may be right or wrong, it is not a law, not a statement. :)

Anyway. since i admitted that i cannot find a PROOF for such a thing, i will leave this topic for now, may be some day another link will come up that will support what the @syedali73 said and then i will also post that here or if it is otherwise i will still share it with you guys. For now, lets get back to J-31. And i am sorry if you or @syedali73 found my disagreement offensive, i am just sharing my point of view and that i will keep doing. :)

I never found your disagreement offensive. In-fact I thanked your post, for you may know what I do not. I have never rubbed my shoulders with military higher ups and while I do know few things due to my father's rank, its not much for he always remained tight lipped about matters related with national security.

Anyway, will keep a look for this piece of news.

Pakistan’s interest in buying Shenyang J-31 from China is a Red-Flag for India

If we believe a report lately, then Pakistan is going to buy J-31 from China. China unveiled the fifth-generation fighter featuring two-engine recently during the Zhuhai airshow. Not just one or two, but up 30 to 40 Shenyang F-31 fighters are what Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is planning to acquire from one of its reliable allied in the world China. India isn’t expected to see their stealth fighters most likely in the next decade and with Pakistan holding their J-31 talks with China, it’s really going to vex India at some point in the near future

There are some European and Asian nations, who face US export restrictions or can’t meet the expense of the Lockheed Martin F-35. J-31 on the other hand will be a cheaper stealth fighter accessible to such countries that too within their budget. The development time-frame for this fighter has been fixed to 2016-2017. If China succeeds to manufacture these 5th-gen stealth fighters for Pakistan, then it will surely forge ahead a lot of challenges for India, who is on the other hand has told Russia it cannot wait longer for stealth fighters. Russia has been delaying the export of FGFA for years and still there is time that has put India in waiting list till 2024-2025.

This is really a matter of concern for India as their neighboring country if the deal with China gets cleared, is going to have their own stealth fighter in just a year or two. Yet, It’s no secret that since long time back Pakistan has been creating threats for India, which has pushed these two nations on the edge of war so many times in a couple of years, and with stealth being fallen in PAF’s inventory, definitely it’s going to be a red-flag situation for India.

The J-31 is a twin-rudder mid-weight and twin-engine jet with the distinctive configuration only found in 5th generation fighters like Sukhoi T-50. J-31 involves certain features found in stealth like two-piece canopy and forward swept intake cowls with diverterless supersonic inlet (DSI) bumps.

The J-31 is a smaller yet more agile fighter as compared to Chengdu J-20 that looks like a twin engine F-35C. This may be due to the fact that it might be used as a 5th-gen carrier based jet. Another feature includes the twin forward wheels which their counterpart the F-35C has to. Other features include two internal weapons bays for carrying two or three medium or long range missiles, ASM’s, and bombs, two heavy hardpoints and one light hardpoint on each wing though it lacks the capacity that F-35 has of mounting gunnery/jamming pod. Also it uses stealth coatings nothing matching like F-35’s baked-in fiber-mat stealth. The flattering fuselage of the fighter makes it fuel-efficient and adds to its pace by decreasing the drag. This leads to more air-superiority.

The following is the specifications of Shenyang J-31:

  • Crew: one (pilot)
  • Height: 4.8 m (15 ft 9 in)
  • Length: 16.9 m (55 ft 5 in)
  • Wingspan: 11.5 m (37 ft 9 in)
  • Gross weight: 17,600 kg (38,801 lb)
  • Wing area: 40 m2 (430 sq ft)
  • Powerplant: 2 × RD-93 afterburning Turbofans, 84 kN (19,000 lbf) thrust each
  • Powerplant: 2 × WS-13A afterburning Turbofans, 100 kN (22,000 lbf) thrust each
  • Maximum speed: Mach 1.8
  • Ferry range: 4,000 km (2,485 mi; 2,160 nmi)
  • Combat range: 1,250 km (777 mi; 675 nmi)
  • Thrust/weight: ~1
