Average Pakistani wealthier than Indian and twice wealthier than a Bangladeshi : Credit suisse

No I am saying that Indians who are settled abroad send money to India. :)

And Indian are clever they will just send money to sustain and keep the economy high :) sitting abroad..

Those who are supporting their relatives send money back. How many actually setup businesses and buy properties back home? And I am referring to the less than $100k earner category, not business tycoons.

Another thing she commented on was the usual (understandable) fear of most Indians of the reaction there once people find out you are Indian. There was no such thing.

That's the experience I would have liked as well during my 1999 visit to India, just 23yrs old then. I also went to attend a wedding.

Went for an alone walkabout in Delhi in the evening, struck a conversation with two guys in a bar that nearly turned ugly after they'd had a few too many drinks and anti-Pakistan venom started spewing out of them.

Host family was very nice however some of their relatives were not so nice when they found out I was from Pakistan. Unfortunately, there's a lot of venom in Indians.

Needless to say, that was my one and only visit to India.

It runs in Billions for us (despite being 1/7th of Indian population), you can easily google that too.

Yup. That was the city she went to. For a wedding in the family of close family friends.

Something to do with the media spreading hate and hysteria... This is the reason I think, alternate media like this forum should be used to spread positive things about both countries, India and Pakistan.

Spreading hatred can be left to mainstream media like TOI, Zee news and some Pakistani channels as well. You actually see a lot less hatred and love for Indians in Pakistan...breaks the stereotype about the country.

Sad to hear of your experience. But yes, most of us don't like Pakistanis. Its a surprise to find therefore friendliness and warmth on the other side. Even I have had a change of heart after knowing and speaking to common Pakistanis. Before that I too used to think that all of you are backward and religious fundamentalists who hate Hindus and would support or even do terrorism on our soil. That is the general perception here. Seventy years of almost no people to people contact has taken its toll. Dehumanized the other side to a scary extent.

...just to add on, not good to be consumed by hate and hysteria. All religions prohibits hatred to their fellow humans, as hate begets more hate. I am all for pluralism..

Interesting video, Lord Aleem, an expat Pakistani, visiting Lahore, and showing around the city. The rich and elitist lifestyle here.

most avg pakistanis are wealthier people but they don't like to show their assets and give taxes.

To be honest, Pakistani students who went to University with me in the US and those to went back are doing better than me, Everyone in my age group who I left behind 25 years ago is doing better than me...I could go back and do it better than Canada but I cant handle daily hurdles of Pakistani life....and for Indian troll I maybe considered a middle class Canadian, I live in the most expensive suburbs of Toronto.

His kid is in maybe 4th or 5th class. And he is a senior doctor in Canada. Doubt money will be an issue.

when you said Doctor i thought his kids went to Medical school..anyhow, In India his kid is going in a private school and you cant compare a private school education with a public school although public school education is damn good in Canada. A private school here for 4th grader will cost above 25000 Canadian per year...so yes money could be an issue mind you Doctors dont make as much in Canada as you would think, I know three Pakistani doctors who live in my neighborhood and you can tell from life style.

even a billionare could be a poor and a person who only gets 1 meal a day can be richer. it's undefined and unexplainable phenomenon.

This demonisation/hatred has been growing as far as I can remember and it has accelerated in the past decade. Having spent my teens in a south-east asian country with a large minority of Tamil Indians, my assessment is that the Hindi speaking Indians are the real haters. Tamil speaking Indians I have not heard speak bad against Pakistanis despite interacting with thousands.

Tamil teachers in the international school I studied in were excellent and very loving, however a fresh off the boat north Indian teacher made my life a hell in the final year of school (being the only Pakistani in high school) - it felt being attacked every day. On the final day of school, these were my parting words to her 'if God gives me one bullet to put in someone's head, I would choose it to be yours', and I was just 15 then.

My neighbour in UK is a gujrati hindu (indian born) and a PHD scientist. On a train commute to London one morning recently, of all the topics we could discuss, he starts of with 'so what do you think of the situation between India and Pakistan' .. really Mr Patel .. tried to not discuss but he just wouldn't stop blaming Pakistan for everything (a style he had clearly picked up from the various Indian anchors) ... my answers did shut him up eventually and earlier than his stop, and he's not touched this topic since.

The problem is not people to people contact, it is the designed hatred brainwashing of the northern half of India's public. It is this hatred that will lead to mass bloodshed in future.

I am just the opposite. I am what one would call an aggressive hand pumper and hugger. LOL

Everywhere I meet Pakistanis, more often than not, I give them a big hug and call them my brothers. Some are less stiff than the others. But most are surprised.

I've still not figured out your women though ....
