Avatar is a pathbreaking film in the field of 3D technology. Like in India the Imax theaters are here for many years now, but most movies are not so special to be watched in 3D paying almost double the money. But with avatar things changed, everyone wants it in 3D. There is no Imax in Bangalore AFAIK. So now many multiplexes installed the 3D technology and showing it on 3D.

I believe i lot of Multiplexes in India are especially importing 3-d screens for avatar. Maybe something similar is happening in Pakistan?

I hadn't heard of this movie until the morning after it was released, and everyone was talking about it. It was even on the radio, and they barely ever do that; the last movie they promoted on that show was The Dark Night. So I got a couple friends together and we set off. Hit up the local IMAX 3D on Saturday night, found out that there were no seats available until Sunday night. We asked about the 2D theatres, and we were told that those are booked until Monday. We could have tried other theatres, but there would barely be any breathing room, so we decided to go play baseball instead.

So yeah, the hype has definitely been built up. Can't wait to see what all the fuss is about. I have my skepticism, checked out the trailer and it looked quite childish; blue alien-looking things fighting with humans. I hope I am mistaken.

Come to India...we have 7 IMax theatres.....

Prasad's IMAx 3D in hyderabad is the biggest...

Come to Iran we have 3D (4 more under construction) and 2 4D! But we don't have Avatar!
