Australia it’s not racist to be worried about immigration

Australia is by and large a racist society, there's a progressive minority, especially its youth who are flexible with racism. This phenomenon is institutionalized in Australia, it is reflected and represented in its policies, especially its immigration laws. Native English speakers are preferred over competence. Things are particularly hard for Muslims in the workplaces, education institutions and in public spaces. General population is capable of being racist if you can push the right buttons.

Why are you still in Australia then? If we are so racist shouldn't you be back in Pakistan where all is pure and good?

.
Which proves my point..

You know what I'm talking about. If you're making trade offs, you're not really free.

So why do you push the wrong buttons? A smile and politeness has opened doors for me always. Yes, I have come across bad behavior, but it is so minute that it is insignificant. I feel more secure in Australia than on the streets of Karachi.

I'm not making any tradeoffs. If you treat yourself as an outsider and the rest of society as 'them' then you will feel left out. By the way, I don't really know what you are talking about.

.
Then you are institutionalized. Australian society makes no tradeoffs, you either fit in or.... You know what I'm talking about. Its you who must absorb yourself into a certain mindset and way of life. Some adjust, others can't.

Wrong. Aussies have a big heart and always make room for diversity. You fit in through manners, politeness, friendliness, and the ability to hold a decent conversation. You don't have to adopt exactly the same ways as others.

.
They have a big heart until you disagree with them or stand up for yourself . As I said, some folks fit in well, others don't. No one is talking about how nice the Assies can be, but whether they can be racist or not. Foreign students still get attacked for being foreign, you still get discriminated at universities, work placements, job interviews and at work. This is coming from experience, not assumptions.

Yes it's up to you to fit in it's not up to me I can make you feel welcome but if you want to still call Australia racist then it's your problem and you will be better off going back to Pakistan or wherever you came from, people in Australia are fed up with immigrants coming to Australia and creating ghettos and then calling Australia racist.

If you want to isolate yourselves based on religion etc then you will face problems Australia is a Christian country you immigrated here knowing that no one forced you to come here but if people don't like it then they should go back to where they came from no one is stopping them.

Then you need to look inwards and see what you are doing. The answer lies with you. Especially in software you are only limited by your abilities. You're telling me your resume doesnt show people you are capable and during interviews you are unable to prove your expertise. I am a Pakistani and I am head hunted. You are also telling me you haven't networked. Create a linkedin profile. Start applying for jobs and also send a linked in invite to the recruiter. You want to be linked to as many as you can, and you need a top notch linked in profile. The first job is always the hardest. Most places have a set procedure. If they like your resume they give you a programming problem. This is your opportunity to shine. Then telephone interview and finally on-site. Accent matters as well as the ability to understand without too many repeats. Talk clearly and concisely. In my first job, the recruitment agent trained me in speaking properly. Your dressing and looks also matter.

I hope you don't form an opinion about all of us based on this interaction.

No I won't I have friends who are Pakistani, Chinese, Indian none of them have said to me Aussies are racist the problem happens when people start living in their ghettos with just people from their religious/ethnic background around them. Look I am not saying Australia is some perfect country we can improve and we have to but for a minority to keep calling us racist is a bit rich when these same people don't want to adjust that's why I said let them go back to their perfect country instead of coming to Australia.

Traffic wise and for infrastructure in general, Sydney is just horrible. I use to love Sydney of 20 years ago - so cool. Now everything is, sorry to use this word, F..ked thanks to these greedy clowns in the government. I don't want to sound like a racist but due to greed the government allowed a specific group of asian people to uncontrollably immigrate to Australia. And unfortunately this group through use of money, including black money, was able to concentrate its money in property and create speculation in property prices which has really made the lives of ordinary Aussies hell. Ordinary Aussies can't even afford to live in Sydney anymore. All the schools have a waiting list, so have the hospitals, and so on. And what is worst is that these same clowns in the government, be it Liberal or Labor a-holes, are turning Melbourne into another Sydney.

It's not just Sydney mate, Melbourne is close to becoming another mish mash as well, And Brizzy too
