Australia demands enquiry, adding to pressure on China

The world is very busy taking care of the impact of COVID19. Once Covid19 is bought under control, the world will take care of China.

China actions have led to more deaths worldwide than should have been the case, and if the people of China think there will be no consequences for China, they are very badly mistaken.

What US lab?
Any specific lab?
The US CDC or the Army Germ Laboratory or the HHS which was classified recently.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House has ordered federal health officials to treat top-level coronavirus meetings as classified, an unusual step that has restricted information and hampered the U.S. government’s response to the contagion, according to four Trump administration officials.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which has faced congressional hearings and secret government sanctions over its sloppy lab safety practices, is keeping secret large swaths of information about dozens of recent incidents involving some of the world’s most dangerous bacteria and viruses.

Or the Fort Detrick Army Laboratories.

FREDERICK, Md. — In 2019, an Army laboratory at Fort Detrick that studies deadly infectious material like Ebola and smallpox was shut down for a period of time after a CDC inspection, with many projects being temporarily halted.

The lab itself reported that the shutdown order was due to ongoing infrastructure issues with wastewater decontamination, and the CDC declined to provide the reason for the shutdown due to national security concerns.

Government documents are usually classified. Nothing special.

You think Xi Jingping will publish all interna meeting notes?

If chinese have nothing to hide then they must open the Wuhan virus institute to international investigators!

investigators must interrogate Shi Zhengli, the bat women. She knows the truth.
You asked me what institute but yourself didn't not tell what institute in Wuhan.

That US lab conducts research on Ebola. That is not coronavirus. Different story.

I have an idea what's coalition's plan against China.

They will file cases in international arbitration/ courts/ whatever and then will get decision in their favor. Courts will most likely impose huge penalties on China and ask her to compensate the affected countries. The amount will be in multiple hundreds of billions (could be in trillions) of dollars.

China will obviously not accept the decision and then unilaterally, these countries will start ceasing Chinese government's investments/ funds/ assets in US/ Europe/ Australia etc.. They will also impose sanctions.

Now it will be interesting to see how China plans to come out of this shit.

Manufacturing has already started moving out. They will hedge their bets and move manufacturing to more places to minimize risk and dependency on one country. I think countries with good infrastructure and low costs like Vietnam will benefit the most. India unfortunately still lacks the infrastructure and has terrible labour laws.

Imagine the world's difficulty if Pakistan joins the Sino -Russian coalition ?
Have you heard of the Sino - Soviet split? They haven't liked each other since the 1960s.

Manufacturers look for competitive advantage and any company that's moving out now will definitely come back otherwise it will go out of business... otherwise Chinese manufacturers will beat all other comparable products. For another 10 years or so, there's simply not a single country that could replace China as a manufacturing hub.

It's all about Chinese investments and funds the US and its allies are after. They were living under a risk of Chinese withdrawal in the near future and coronavirus has provided them with a perfect opportunity.

I know a few OEMs who get goods manufactured in China. They will not stop manufacturing in China but they will not rely on 100% production there. Will it raise prices? Yes. Because no one can make it for as cheap as the Chinese. But they will also insulate themselves from a total lockdown like this.

See, if the lock down has happened because of China, then no one can predict that a lock down will not happen again. It has nothing to do with goods manufactured in China or not. The companies that decide to move out will go out of business very soon. It's not easy to ignore China.

However, there's one way.. and that's sanctions. When Chinese companies aren't able to export, companies in other countries will of course snatch the share.

But sanctioning a global power is extremely difficult in current times. That's why said.. it will be interesting to see how China plans to respond to sanctions and seizure of Chinese funds and investments.

People have short memories. Remember the huge floods in Thailand in 2011 which disrupted the Auto supply chain? Did the Auto company moved out ? No.

Thai floods batter global electronics, auto supply chains

BANGKOK/TOKYO (Reuters) - Manufacturers of car parts to computer hard drives are worst hit in Thailand and face a bleak key holiday selling season due to massive floods, which have shut down production.

Japanese car makers that had just started to recover from the March earthquake and tsunami that disrupted their supply chains are now facing shortages of key parts made in Thailand, a key manufacturing base in Southeast Asia.

Companies including Toyota Motor Co and Honda Motor Co have already curtailed production at plants as far away as North America because their Thai suppliers are under water.

Santions? I doubt it.
