Some of these hypothetical measures are going plain silly. Air Cons are relevant to environmental control, I would propose air cons or similar environmental control systems even in Bunkers on front lines if able. Technically both sides suffer due to heat in some of our border areas.
Its akin to asking why thermal insulation or heaters are used in Siachen.

Why is it automatically a need to point the fingers at the rest of the government if the military is critiqued? Why is it an assumption that the excess in the rest of the state are not just as vociferously denounced as in the military?

The reason is because the military does not operate in a vacuum. It is a part of the federal government. You have to compare it to other departments within the same government. Essentially Army is a bureaucracy among many other bureaucracies within the government. If you say they over-spend or live lavishly, then you have to have context which is provided by the other bureaucracies within the same government.

1)NCB and Batman bohat arsay say khatam hoi hain. Army does not provide NCB anymore. People have to hire private NCB.
2) DHA Kay plots are not gifted, officers pay for them, you cannot auction stuff some one has paid for. The officers own that land.

3) All army officers residents are metered. There is no house that does not pay electricity bill

4) air cargo and heli services are not provided to officers. By land he Saman jata Hai. Air cargo unit Kay Saman Kay lian use hota Hai not personal belonging of officers.

5) allotting plot as service benefit ended a long time ago as well. Officer pay for all the plots (in installments) and no plots are gifted even when officers are awarded medals like Sitar - e-Imtiaz

6) 4 star General sirf 2 he hotay hain, COAS, Chairman Joint Chief. This post makes it sound 4 star generals are common. Ab COAS Ka Ghar to auction nahee karaingay na, where do you expect the COAS to go?

I agree that this is a lot of nonsense, but I decided to answer these as hypotheticals because the rumor mill persists. On #3, the residences in cantonments are metered, but payments were subsidized. However things may have changed now. This obviously does not apply to private residences of officers. These questions are in line with other falsehoods such as national defense eats up the biggest part of the national budget etc.

And the Sharifs and Bhuttos are no saints for challenging the army if someone is under that impression...They didn't challenge the lifestyle of our top brass ever, since they themselves enjoyed a lavish lifestyle at public's expense, they had no higher moral ground to stand on if they wanted to cut army's perks.

Bhutto and Sharif dynasties have looted millions of this country and transferred the sum in various off shore accounts and properties. It's sad that such crooks are paragons of "struggle" in the eyes of some outside Pakistan.

The major who is our neighbor has a sarkari BATMAN. At least till recent past.

Batman must be immediately stopped, officers need to learn to polish their shoes and clean their house themselves, or hire their own servant.

They award agricultural land, what about that? Why not distribute agricultural land among thousands of poor farmers instead of awarding it to a general sahib, who's already taking pension benefits?

My family has quite a few of these plots, some with houses already built. The most recent was a year ago. That particular plot is worth roughly half of the serviceman's entire service's earnings. And did I mention that he was perfectly allowed to stay in his service allotted house for a further year after his retirement? All perks included.

I have personally shipped belongings of servicemen and their families on C-130s. And you do know that they hitch rides along with the cargo too, right?

A very close family member was allotted a plot in a very prime location in Lahore, then charged Rs.16,000 for 10 years every month to have a built house waiting for him after he retired. Yeah, he did pay for it.


I don't even want to touch the subject of how these military housing societies are involved in land grab and 2-bit extortion.

First two are prized perks if your army folks do that and the third one is security issue.

Lol well said. Nawaz and Zardari are literal traitors, besides plundering their own country, what the former did during Kargil was treason plain and simple. In no way was there spate with the army as a result for the desire of the well-being of the country but rather their own tail.

If what the OP posted is true then this is great news as long as it doesn't come at the cost of personal security of our officers (Which I'm sure it won't).
