The hindu genociding mad man ? He had a lot of inference and the marathas were hindu , so he tried to clamp down anything hindu in his kingdom.

Aurangzeb was great, so is Yogi adityanath. In fact, by the same measures as written in the OP, yogi is even greater than aurangzeb - he didn't demolished a single non-hindu religious site, he didn't kill his own brothers to ascend to the top job.

Aurangzeb was thrashed by Shivaji the great!! What great he was? LOL

The Mughal Empire was at its peak under Aurangzeb, it only fell apart because the leaders after him were bumbling idiots.

The Mughal Empire declined because the leaders after Zebby were incompetent, not Zebby himself.

He wasn't taught any lesson, he expanded the Mughal Empire to its peak and ruled it securely until he passed away. The empire only declined because his descendents were incompetent.

Anyway, the Marathas were a bunch of pillaging rapists. To call them good guys by any means is extremely hypocritical if you consider Aurangzeb and the Mughals bad.

It was at peak because Aurangazeb was determined for using all those accumulated wealth and good will of his predecessors for expansionist policies .But he lost the very support of the foundation of his empire ,the support of Hindu kings once and for all.
And they never trusted his successors .

.
Greatest Ruler for Muslims of Subcontinent for implementing Sharia. Most Hindus converted to Islam during his rule.

Worst Ruler for non-Muslims of Subcontinent who is hated for his most hateful policies against them.

Aurangzeb is the father of partition of India. He sowed the seeds that Jinnah reaped.

Aurangzeb the Great - The Butcher of Hindus

Highlights of Aurangzeb

-- Destroyed Hindu Temples including temple at Mathura and banned construction of new temples
-- Forbade Hindu teachings in temples
-- Killed his brother Dara Shukoh for translating Upanishads to Persian
-- Reimposed jizya tax on Hindus

Hardly. The empire declined because his successors were terrible rulers, not because Hindus started to hate the Mughals. There were always plenty in India who hated the Mughals, even other smaller Muslim kingdoms.

May be .But 26 years of extended warfare drain all the sources of Mughal empire .You know once you earn the hate of the citizens they would continue that forever .That is what happened there.

The seeds for partition were planted once Islam came in full force after Mahmud Ghazni invaded. It was under the Ghaznavids that many became Muslim. Want to blame partition on someone other than Jinnah and Iqbal? Blame Ghazni.

He didn't ban teaching Hinduism in temples, he simply prevented people from building new temples, and only destroyed them when people acted against him. Nothing wrong with that particularly, it's not like Hindus had a lack of temples.

As for the other rules he inforced, they all acted very well in expanding his empire and allowing it to reach his peak.

No, what happened is his successors couldn't control an empire. Akbar and Aurangzeb were the most successful Mughal rulers, one was successful because of his leniency, the other because of his firmness.

Why couldnt they ?That is the question in there .They had lost the support of some major section of Indian society .

Aurangzeb destroyed all those reputation of his predecessors.

Of course every ruler from the time of Ghazni have indulged in the persecution of the Hindus. I am not absolving any of them. Frankly speaking Jinnah should not even be compared or associated with the acts of tyranny committed by the Islamic rulers. Jinnah fought for preserving political rights of the Muslims in the Hindu Majority subcontinent which is very valid and understandable but the damage and distrust created by the erst while Islamic rulers forced Muslim to feel insecure as the Islamic rulers lost the grip on the masses and Muslims expected the retribution from the Hindus who were persecuted by the Islamic rulers for over a millennia.

He had no control over his empire only on paper it was largest. Marathas were needling him every where in central & southern India. Finally he was instrumental in making sikhs a military force in punjab. If he had been alive for some more time even buddhists would have created a military force.

Not true at all. His empire was the most powerful force in all of India at the the time, and he did defeat the Marathas (although it was a pyrrhic victory).
