Atul Auto forays in Bangladesh with 6 seater vehicle
Launches Atul Gem in the neighbouring country.
Foraying into Bangladesh for the first time, Rajkot-based Atul Auto has launched its Atul Gem rear engine six seater passenger vehicle in the neighbouring country through Atul Autos Bangladesh Ltd.
While Atul Auto Ltd will provide technical assistance to Atul Autos Bangladesh Ltd., the latter has tied up with Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory for assembling the passenger vehicle. One of the largest three wheeler manufacturers and leader in front engine diesel and CNG 3 wheeler, Atul Auto will supervise the assembling work of the vehicles at Atul Autos Bangladesh Ltd., said Niraj Chandra, deputy general manager - marketing, Atul Auto Ltd.
Speaking at the launch, Dilip Barua, Industries Minister, Bangladesh showed his satisfaction for the vehicle and indicated that Bangladesh Government would provide tax holiday if Atul Auto intends to build a factory there. "They will also get the opportunity to take their all profit through remittance, as it develops employment and industrialisation by encouraging auto industry in Bangladesh," said Barua.
A rear engine three wheeler vehicle with state of art technology, Atul Gem was launched in June 2009. The three wheeler vehicle comes in two models Cargo, the goods carrier and Paxx, the passenger carrier. Commenting on the technical tie-up, Chandra said, "Atul Auto vehicles do get remarkable responses from all over India specially rural and semi rural areas. Add to that, Atul Auto passenger and commercial vehicles having exclusive strength and capacity.
He added, Bangladesh has tremendous potential to develop the automobile sector and we have confidence on our products and the performance - which will again prove to be one of the preferred three wheeler in Bangladesh market." According to Chandra, in the first full year the company expects Rs 20 crore sales from this association in Bangladesh. The company's manufacturing facility at Rajkot in the state of Gujarat, produces diesel as well as GNG/LPG operated three wheeled commercial vehicles.
