Attack on Pakistan police center kills 18 officers

At least 18 officers were killed Sunday in a suicide attack at a police training center in Mingora in Pakistan's northwest, officials said.

The attack also wounded 12 others, said military spokesman Major Pir Mushtaq.

The attacker jumped over a wall at the compound and blew himself up as about 50 to 75 newly-recruited officers were training, said Mian Iftikhar Hussain, the information minister of the North West Frontier Province.

Authorities recovered the suicide bomber's head, Mushtaq said.

it was sheer carelessness by police. how can a stranger get into the premises in first place. the other day in Torkham the same carelessness was shown on part of the police when they accepted water from a stranger. i think they still do not realize what they are up against.

This kind of attacks also seen in Iraq when American led forces starts recruiting new staff for Iraqi army and Police.......don't know how they tackeld later on.

These bstard suicide bombers and their Taliban/Al Qaeda sponsors are an example of the 0.1% of Muslims that some people think are 'thumbing it to the West'.

Not so much careless its just hard for the ordinary man, or in this case students, to comprehend the sort of person that could offer to break the fast with you while intending to murder 20 innocent young men during Ramadan.

I hate these teenage suicide bombers. They take the lives of so many husbands and fathers and they know nothing about the ruined lives they cause or even why they are told to do it. the army and the police should start to develop SOP's against these bombers to protect the lives of these men.
We all know that such attacks will take place in the foreseeable future. it will take some time to dismantle the crazies completely from swat. But we must go into SW because that is where most of these suicide bombers come form.
