Six soldiers martyred as troops foil attack on military compound in Tank
Pakistan Army troops responded in an efficient manner, killing all three terrorists, says ISPR
Six soldiers of Pakistan Army were martyred on Wednesday when terrorists attempted to attack a military compound in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Tank district, the military said in a statement.
"Own troops responded in an efficient manner, encircled and killed all three terrorists thereby foiling the attempted entry inside the military compound," military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said.
However, the statement added, during intense exchange of fire, six soldiers, having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom.

The martyred included 48-year-old Subedar Major Sher Muhammad from Naushero Feroz, 39-year-old Naib Subedar Zubaid from Khairpur, 39-year-old Havildar Sohail from Rawalpindi, 36-year-old Lance Naik Ghulam All from Tando Allahyar, 32-year-old Sepoy Maskeen Ali from Khairpur and 37-year-old Sepoy Mir Muhammad from Sukkur.
"Pakistan Army is determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve," the statement further said.
Last month, security forces killed a terrorist who made a “suicidal attempt” to enter into a military post in Dossali, a small town in North Waziristan district.
ISPR said in a statement that the terrorist fired small arms and also tried to lob a grenade on security before being shot dead.

The troops were on alert and prepared for the situation, initiated a prompt response and effectively engaged the terrorist. “Resultant, the terrorist got killed.”
Earlier, a terrorist was killed during an exchange of fire with security forces in North Waziristan district.
According to the ISPR, the incident occurred in the Shewa area of the district during which a terrorist named Irfan aka Abu Darda got killed. "Weapon and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorist," it added.
The ISPR said that the killed terrorist was involved in terror activities against security forces, target killings and kidnapping for ransom.
