Thelatest attack on Ahmadis, in Gujranwala, came complete with the usual features. A group of people, angered by an alleged act of blasphemy, identified a few Ahmadi homes to vent their ire on.

Once again, reports say the police were unable to fathom the urgency of the situation; controlling religion-based mob violence is apparently not a subject they are well versed in. Or there may have been simply a lack of will to intervene.

Whatever the case, the police failed to come to the rescue of a community that is all too often persecuted. With this attitude, it is unsurprising that, apart from the police, no other administrative arm of government was there. Many houses were set on fire and at least three lives were lost because of suffocation.

The administrative approach to this latest incident of members of a minority community being targeted inspires little hope that the perpetrators of the violence will ever be held accountable. The standard response of the government and of society is to shrug off such instances, to take them in their stride — and without any signs of guilt.

This attitude in turn promotes a culture that not only condones but actually facilitates the next, inevitable faith-based attack. Not too long ago, aUS-based Ahmadi doctorwas murdered soon after he came to Rabwah to work in a hospital.

More recently, anAhmadi man was murdered in Nawabshahin Sindh. This incident, along with a series of mob raids on temples in the same province, indicates the spread of the faith-based menace of intolerance to areas once considered free of such bigotry.

The hate network is spreading and striking with increasing frequency — unimpeded. Instances where there are some courageous calls for justice are getting rarer. Those who do speak out expose themselves to serious consequences.

Not even the judiciary, which prides itself on having taken up causes on its own in recent years, has been moved by the persecution of the minorities to traverse this difficult territory.

Consequently, the choices for those facing faith-based persecution is either to resign themselves to the situation — which means simply waiting for their turn — or try and flee the country. That is a sad reflection of today’s Pakistan.

Each one of us has contributed to this state of affairs, some with their silence, others, who are assigned the duty of protecting the citizens, with their inaction that encourages and empowers the zealots.

Attack on Ahmadis - Pakistan - DAWN.COM

.
Typical sunni behavior. Sunnis most violent people on the people.

.
Pakistan has become the most intolerant society in the world.

The ''blasphemous'' post was actually a picture of the Kabaa that the young Ahmadi Muslim posted on his face book. Poor kid should have known that this hurts the ''feelings'' of sarkari muslims. Of course sarkari muslims have no qualm in hurting minorities' feelings or their lives.

Was that pic photoshopped, which somehow insulted Kaaba??

If yes, then is it justified? If no, then what's the matter exactly?

It was not photoshopped mate. As far as I'm aware the ahmadi guy just posted a picture of kabaa which many people across the world do. But because he was an Ahmadi Muslims that means it some how hurts the feelings of official Muslims. Their logic is extremely stupid and sometimes you wonder how even many educated Muslims act the same way as illiterate ones.

By law Ahmadi Muslims are not allowed to act like Muslims. Which means any Ahmadi Muslims caught doing the following is liable to 3 years imprisonment, fine and possibly death from the Mullah brigade. So an ahmadi is practically breaking the law every single day, the fact is as long as Ahmadis breath in Pakistan they are committing blasphemy.

Got killed for posting picture of Kaaba? Even Saudis allow Ahemdis to perform hajj.

@Jaanbaz .. what does qadiyanis means?

Qadiani means someone from Qadian a town in Indian Punjab where the found of Ahmadiyya community was born. It was the head quarters of Ahmadiyya community until the partition. Ahmadis shifted their headquarters to Pakistan and built a new town on empty land bought from the government naming it Rabwah. Which obviously turned out to be a big mistake as Pakistanis soon started killing Ahmadis. 1950s riots saw 2 thousand Ahmadi Muslims killed, hundreds killed and many houses were looted and burned. After the migration of 4th spiritual leader of Ahmadiyya community the head quarters was shifted to London.

The word Qadani is now used as in insult by Anti Ahmadiyya terrorists.

Can a Ahmedi boy marry a sunni girl legally?

Legally, as in under Pakistan's constitution? no. Besides there are fatwa by sunni scholars to not marry or mingle with Ahmadi Muslims. Ahmadis then retaliated by giving fatwa against marrying ahmadi girls with rest of muslims. The only time it is allowed to marry one is if they understand ahmadiyya community and what they are getting into and then they can convert to marry an ahmadi.

. . .
Non-Ahmedi Muslims can convert to Ahmedi in Pakistan? BTW are Ahmedis considered non-Muslims by Barelvis and Shias too?

Shias have their own militias. They won't be an easy target.

A silent genocide is already underway in pakistan, what i fear is that this disease will spread to our muslims as well... A recent sectarian clash in UP was a fresh example. It will effect every community , UP can burn in massive riots easily.
