All standards are same. So need not worry about these. They all meet the DX11, OpenGL 3, PCIe 2 specs

I'll put 200$ for an upgrade but i dont know much about them. I want to play some high-spec games.

ATI 5670 is a good card.

750 Clock, 1 GB DDR5, DX 11, Open GL 3.2, Shader model 5, Cross fire supported i think.


PLUS it don't need extra power input from power supply. It takes all the power from motherboard directly.

Also why is your ram running at 666mhz as DDR3 ? That is a little odd. You might want to get some better sticks or set them to their optimal settings.

Installing a graphics card is easy. You'll be able to do that pretty easily. Its just putting a card into a slot, and voila! Its done.

Go with ATI cards, they have been in the market for long now and have reputation much larger than nVidia's, with solid performances.

Also, look into FireGl series and see if they work better than the Radeons.

I am actually surprised how nVidia is still in business with the crap they sold as the 9xxx series and then the new re-branded GTX, GT, GTS 3XX, 4XX and 5XX series.

Also make sure your PSU is enough to handle that card. In a relatively high end system you should need a 500 watt PSU. You could cut it with 450 though. Your motherboard should be able to detect the card. If it has issues you might have to flash bios but i don't think you would need to. Make sure after you install the card that you go to AMDs website and update the drivers for it. Do not use the ones that come on the CD as those are older.

Yes and no. Direct-X is application programming interfaces and they offer new things to the game programmers to integrate into their titles. That being said Direct-X 10-11 if enabled in games will stress your card harder because they bring in new graphical options such as tessellation, Dynamic lighting, Bloom etc.

This video goes into more detail specifically about Direct-X 11. The support is in the hands of the developer though. So if they don't like a Direct-X (Like was the case with 10) they wont work with it.

I am a tester and benchmarker I have done all kinds of stress tests under different DXs and results do differ. DX11 (if your card supports it) has a completely different library which enables the developers to create more complex and heavy-oriented graphics thus consuming more GPU resources. Google is always your friend.

I too have been benchmarking/overclocking/modding hardware for quite some time now. And as far as I know DX has little to nothing to do with performance.

DX9 benchmark would get the same score under DX9 card, DX10 card, or even a DX11 card.

So it is not performance that differs. It is just that with every new DX API, a host of new features are available, and limitations on already existing features are increased thereby allowing developers with more freedom.

So if DX11 games runs slower in DX11 mode than in DX9 mode, it is not due to performance of DX, but rather the extra features enabled in newer version of DX, which is taxing the GPU, thereby resulting in a lower FPS.

So don't link performance with version of DX.

Your motherboard should have a PCIe(PCI Express) x16 slot. If it has it, then any new graphics card can be installed in it.

You can check your motherboard specs on the internet for it. It will fit easily, and it will be detected. Nothing to configure in it. All pre-programmed to switch to PCIe graphics card as soon as one is detected.
