"What happened was due to lapse on the government's part," Congress leader R P N Singh charged.

Calling the deaths at the hospital a "disaster", BSP leader Sudhindra Bhadoria called for CM Yogi Adityanath's resignation.

"This is a matter of great shame for the UP chief minister. If there's any morality in the government, he should quit and go, for such a disaster has happened. Hope he has enough shame in him to go and regret to the parents and quit on moral grounds," Bhadoria told ANI.

Samajwadi Party as well went on the offensive against the state government. Senior leader Ram Gopal Yadav said the state must provide reparations to the family members of the deceased.

"Parents of children who died must get compensation, free medicine must be provided to poor families across UP," he added.

This was in 2016, in 5 days 60+ Children died. seculars were like, who cares, secular baba is CM, so, children's deaths are fine.

Yes sir. 25000 Children have died in UP. Seculars have woken up NOW because for the first time in a long time they have a non-secular CM. Until now, 25000 Children's deaths mean nothing since Secular babas were ruling the state.

No 1 Cause of Japanese Encephalitis is Hygiene. When Yogi tried to close butcher shops, remember the seculars crying all over India?
Yeah, these same bunch of double faced yahoos are now pretending to care. They don't want Yogi to tackle the Hygiene part since seculars would be affected.

And don't forget the 25000 children's death and the complete silence of seculars. Even now the seculars won't demand Yogi to close the illegal butcher shops and tanneries near UP water bodies.
My friends, the utter destruction of seculars in India is complete.
These seculars are responsible for these 25000 Children's deaths but we all know who get's the blame.

Yeah, the COW.

This was in 2014

Because that time the govt was secular, so 25000 children deaths don't matter.
These seculars are directly responsible for every kids death in UP.

The slaughter houses are breeding grounds of this virus and these very same seculars want to keep them open!!

71 dead, because of this useless govt.

Is there any accountability ? Of course not , it's UP. Center is more concerned about political killing in kerala.

Those responsibe should be shot dead.

Not 71,
The death count is 25000+

did you know immunization for this disease started only 2 years back that too on the persistent efforts of Yogi?

Don't let the facts come in the way though.

North Indian states (except a few) performs pretty bad in Health and educational sectors which are grossly overlooked by the politicians of all parties. Instead of politicizing the issue, better approach would be to learn from Tamil nadu or Keralian experience.
