There is a way to do that - downsizing the military while both through backdoor channels and implicitly lowering the nuclear threshold and response time the battle on the eastern front can be kept tamed while the western side can be handled by a downsized force.

That will require a lot of will and extremely capable military and civilian leadership that simply doesn’t exist in Pakistan
Military's extra-circular projects to preserve the status quo are the biggest impediments to turning the the economic ship around. Military spending is just a red herring, whereas military's perennial effort to run cover for corruption, mismanagement and stagnation is the real burden on the exchequer and the true source of the inertia.

Can JF 17 shoot down starfighters and 6th generation fighters? Even If Both are having equal capabilities.

Regarding on Topic- We have a sufficient time frame to develop HAL Tejas MK2. And follow-up by AMCA before 2030.

Most probability both aircraft will start producing before 2030 and then will have decent numbers of aircrafts to replace.

Why does India even bother to look at the chappy rafaels when they have the might Tejas.
The acquisition of 4th generation jets should not be seen as a replacement for indigenous fighter jets, but rather as a complementary measure to enhance the IAF's overall capabilities.

what irony, Pakistan was in this predicament in the 00's with an obsolete Air Force and vediqs trying to play the market with MMRCA like shenanigans which was to approach western fighter market and coaxing them to not sell to Pakistan by being a contender as a potential buyer.

At the same time it was 'look east, look west, makhi is the best'. there must be a heap of keyboards in vediq'ville worn out by internet vediqs praising this fighter all over the inter-web.

today Pakistan's fleet has started to fix all the time lost lagging behind in broad spectrum tech thanks primarily to the advancement made by China.

You're surely joking. 2030 for AMCA lol . I wouldn't be surprised if by 2030 AMCA planning for its 1st trial flight.

The Tejas does not come across as an air superiority fighter, it would be up against the J20, J35s or land based versions. Feels like it's at a disadvantage to me. It's a light fighter India needs something heavier in the 5th gen range.

The IAF has 267 Su-30MKIs that more than fulfill the long legged heavy fighter role. A planned upgrade of the Su-30MKI is IMO a far more important project than the AMCA being pushed into service earlier than it should.

Apart from the Su-30MKI, the Rafale has the range, payload and most importantly, avionics and weapons to take on any PLAAF fighter. The only issue is that there are too few of them.

Tejas Mk2 is extremely important for the IAF. It'll give them the next gen Mirage-2000 class fighter that is affordable and capable.

The Rafale cannot take on the J-20 or J-35's - all 4,5+ gen fighters struggle against stealth. At best the Rafale can maybe trade blows with J10C's/J16s equipped AESA's...

You are true until it comes to knowing that Tejas and JF-17 are only the same in weight category and not in capabilities.
JF-17 Thunder is a much older, reliable, and combat-proven jet... its latest update blockIII is in its own class.
While Tejas, although looks equal on paper still far away from maturity. It took almost 4 decades in development just to realize that in the meantime the world has moved to another level.
Tejas is still struggling with its initial block and given that India has a very poor record in upgrades it may take another decade just to put forth/induct advanced blocks of Tejas in proper inventory.
