What's new

At least 17 PTI lawmakers in KP allegedly sold votes in Senate election: sources

happens every senate election, PTI wala vote sellers
but they will not commit corruption when Imran becomes PM and only then

. . .
Such kind of dirty trading going on, time and again.
Since years these politicians are in this 'مقدس' parliament and doing 'legislation'; but it is so barren that could not do legislation to stop such corrupt practices.
Do we have to vote every time to elect such thieves/corrupts, who are robbing us and our generations for better future and making fortune for them and their families thru such corrupt practices?
We must understand that this parliament will never be 'مقدس' while such corrupts are sitting in it.

This is what I don't understand about them. IK has consistently turned a blind eye to the rigging and corruption in his own party, yet his supporters assume he will act differently if he becomes PM

His supporters act like only he need to be clean, all his corrupt MNA can do what ever they like.

This is the fundamental mistake they make...
Look everyone knows in Pakistan, the politcs is electables based, meaning electables are a basic necessity of each political party, and PTI is no different that is the very reason when babar awan against whom there is 111 billion Rs.corruption refernce pending in Nab, when he tries to join PTI, he is recieved with open arms...he was in JI when Bhutto hanged, and he was giving aways sweets to people at Bhutto's hanging, and guess what then he joined PPPP, and PPPP accepted him with open hands too, regardless of sweets episode, and mind you bibi was alive, still pppp accepted him, why? Cuz he is an electable, he and other electables they are not bound by any party policy...for god sake guys, especially people related to PTI understand this, when IK says that all those electables will follow the party policy, its an eye wash/smoke screen...Don't you guys see on daily basis that people like babar awan, firdous ashiq awan, javed hashmi, Omar ayub, Jahangir tareen, daniyal aziz, marvi memon,Nabeel gabol, etc. etc. they change parties at will, based on their personal benefits, and parties accept them regardless of their lota past, why?? Cuz they r electables, so whoever tells you that they will follow the party policy, and they will fight status quo is lying, he is making people fool, cuz these electables are part of status quo, they are beneficiaries... why would they let that system fall?? Cuz if system falls they will be the first casulty... its a power struggle between IK and NS, both are part of status quo, in 80s it was NS who was establishment's horse, this time its IK's turn now, you don't believe it, study our history and compare with current circumstances, chain of events, happenings, still don't beleive, wait for some time, future will be bringing some very harsh truths...

As an outsider if I may share my observations of the current political climate? You see Imran Khan has a very different kind of following (but I guess you already know this), whereas the Sharriff and in many ways the Zardari family have loyalties paved with cash and gratuities, many follow PTI for the persona of Imran Khan and his endless charisma.

But this is where fantasy and reality start to separate, it is all very well having high energy demonstrations and public gatherings and calling for accountability, this is awesome but what is your end game? Where do you want to go and how are you going to get there? And this is where I think PTI are at a loss.

N.S has managed the whole legal challenge exceptionally well, you can see that despite him being as bent as the Russian Sickle he is a smart operator and shrewd. When he was removed he coined a rally cry "Why did you remove me"? and used the sympathies of the beguiled public to his advantage.

Of course having deep pockets helps too, as seen in the recent outcome of local elections. Just look at the support levels the PTI had at the start of his movement in 2012, compare that to the instability in the party as of now.

Imran Khan and PTI failed to capitalize on the momentum and align with the PPP. And he failed, because Imran Khan has no end game, the game of politics is making alliances with those who are closely aligned to your priorities.

Sadly Imran Khan is surrounded by sycophants yes men and women all who have their own vested interests, people are all looking to Imran Khan and he doesn't have a pulse on the ground realities. The party is breaking, I can see this and read this as an OUTSIDER!

The people who win in Pakistan are those who win the heartland, not the posh educated elite. Mark my words, Imran Khan will be a king maker but never the king.

Imran Khan has not turned a blind eye to this. Unlike other parties he is doing what is right and an investigation is underway. Those found to be horse trading will have criminal charges raised against them according to the PTI press statement.

I just read that Imran Khan himself didn't bother to vote in Senate elections. What punishment will he give himself?

No law says that you have to vote in senate elections. Clutching at straws I see.
