Assault on CPEC

.
There is nothing that can stop CPEC. CPEC is on full speed ahead.
I think you are not listening the current news.
Gov is slowing down or halting the CPEC for renegotiate the projects where chines companies got unfair deals and gave bribes to previous gov.
Its should be done.i hope chines will understand that every country want its interests best serve.
I was wondering nobody posted this news here yet.

I am happy that Atif Mian is out because his stance was same as Americans on CPEC. Try hurting PTI and I will hurt Atif Mian so badly that you cannot imagine. So forget Atif Mian I care more for my country than him.

LOL you want only 'chamchaas' in the economic council. Experts with different point of views are always welcome, and in the end, it is IK, who always has to make a final call. There are hundreds of projects in process under CPEC label, if some of them does not qualify under priority list, it is better to drop them down for now to avoid creating further debts. For e.g show off projects like Lahore Metro Train. Atif Mian actually lives in US and reads American version of CPEC, had he been in Pakistan, working side by side with Imran Khan , he would had developed a better understanding of CPEC with respect to Pakistani interest not America. He is a champion in modern economics at macro level and his straight advises to IK would had been gold. Economic policies are developed and later polished by keeping different opinions in mind, and what is and will be best for the country. Forecasting plays an important role in devising such strategies and people like Atif, were best ones to do this.

Atif Mian was the kulboshan from US a signed the job of sabotaging CPEC. He was same like Reham Khan 2.0 and PMLN planted Atif Mian in CPEC.

OK this is the best you have come of to justify outrageous and embarrassing exclusion of Atif from economic council. If this is enough for your consumption than I ain't arguing with you anymore.

:offtopic: Please stay on topic there is another thread on the issue let's meet there.

India will soon go much more further ahead in terms of naval power as if current imbalance is not big enough. We can't hope to defend cpec by this Airforce or navy.
Pakistan and China are fully aware of US Indian designs.

Nothing the US and India desire can halt CPEC.

PTI gave up to pinkie peerni's pressure. Pathetic. Asking scientists about their religion. Their habit of showoff created this issue.
If he was against CEPC and PTI why did pti choose him in 1st place, now blaming the poor guys because PTI gave to Mullah pressure

Pakistan seeks to review CPEC agreements: FT

ISLAMABAD: Newly elected Pakistan government of Prime Minister Imran Khan will review its role in China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and renegotiate a trade agreement signed more than a decade ago, UK Daily, citing Pakistani officials, reported on Sunday.

According to report, the ministers and the advisors of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government said the agreement "unfairly benefits Chinese companies."

“The previous government did a bad job negotiating with China on CPEC — they didn’t do their homework correctly and didn’t negotiate correctly so they gave away a lot,” The Financial Times reported, quoting Abdul Razak Dawood, Prime Minister Imran Khan's Adviser on Commerce, Textile, Industry & Production and Investment.

Dawood was reported to have said; “Chinese companies received tax breaks, many breaks and have an undue advantage in Pakistan; this is one of the things we’re looking at because it’s not fair that Pakistan companies should be disadvantaged.”

The adviser was quoted as saying: “I think we should put everything on hold for a year so we can get our act together,” he added. “Perhaps we can stretch CPEC out over another five years or so.”

Dawood is a renowned businessmen who founded Descon Engineering, which is involved in Engineering and Construction, Chemicals, Power and Inspection. It is perhaps the first Pakistani multinational company which is operating in six countries, according to commerce ministry.

The projects concerned are part of the $62bn China-Pakistan Economic Corridor plan — by far the largest and most ambitious part of the BRI, which seeks to connect Asia and Europe along the ancient silk road. It also includes a huge expansion of the Gwadar port on Pakistan’s south coast, as well as road and rail links and $30bn worth of power plants.

As per the report, Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi, who visited Islamabad at the weekend, indicated that Beijing could be open to renegotiating its 2006 trade deal with Pakistan.

So it has begun and I see nothing wrong with the above. The Chinese companies need to pay tax, need to employ Locals, need to obey the laws of the land and keep in mind that Pakistan is doing them a favour and it is China that needs Pakistan more - not the other way around. And that is why the Chinese FM rushed here cause he knew the government here was finally asking the right questions. For too long Pakistan has been sold for peanuts by the cheap greedy bastar.ds like NS, Zardari and others before them including the some in the Military. IK's government needs to do a proper audit of the whole project, it does not matter if the project is delayed by one year or so as long as the whole picture is captured. China may be our strategic partner but they have taken advantage of the corruption baboons here. Pakistan CANNOT go into financial trouble because of China. Chinese need to commit to buy billions of dollars of additional Pakistan goods - if they cannot give advantage to their strategic ally, I say review the project and ensure it is in Pakistan's interest.

What are you aware of? And what are Indians moaning and crying? It was Indians who conceived and inflicted CPEC on Pak so that it can be destroyed.

@Jaanbaz @Sal12 @django

CPEC is two edge knife. This can make Pakistan prosperous or make pakistan which is economically subservient to China. Without any doubt, there are some really bad deals in CPEC which are in highly favor of China not Pakistan. The blame goes to previous Pak civilian leardership which was short sighted and corrupt to the core.

To work with the Chinese, one's own negotiators must be sincere, competent and innovative (so as to offset or manage China's expectations). Seeing how not one of those attributes were present in the previous government when it had signed-off on CPEC, the results shouldn't surprise us. But our mentality of seeing everyone (but not ourselves, ironically) as "brothers" doesn't help with building a culture of accountability either. "Pakistan first" or "I am Pakistan" only tends to ring in songs and slogans, but never in concrete foreign policy.

You are stupid, how are you hurting Pakistan, by forcing CPEC on Pakistan? Pakistan wants CPEC to happen
