She had limited mandate and resources with respect to doing any misadventure in BD. She had been doing world trips meeting different leaders to intimate them about ground situation ...as it was developing into a crises. Her mandate was to restore normalcy to East Pakistan and send back all the refugees. The war could have ended in a stalemate and BD would have been part of East Pakistan for all you know. But as it turned out Pakistani forces gave up their resistance quite easily and the rest is history.

Conspiracy on to kill Khaleda: Fakhrul

BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday claimed that a conspiracy is being hatched to murder party Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

Citing an online magazine published from a foreign country, Mirza Fakhrul said that Khaleda's life is in danger, reports Prothom Alo.

It was not a baseless claim, the BNP leader said while addressing a discussion at Jatiya Press Club.

Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal organised the programme on the occasion of the jail-release day of Khaleda and her elder son Tarique Rahman, also the senior vice chairman of BNP.

Critising the government's decision to amend the Grameen Bank Ordinance, Mirza Fakhrul said the government wants to take the Grameen Bank to the level of Sonali Bank.

The BNP leader also condemned Bangladesh Chhatra League's attack on Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal leaders at Dhaka University.

He mentioned that the JCD men came under the attack when they were waiting to meet the DU vice-chancellor on Monday.

As the VC has failed to create a congenial atmosphere on the campus, he should resign, Mirza Fakhrul said.

It is you who is doing the deliberate spreading of such rumors. RAW sticks mainly to what it specializes in--China and Pakistan.
It works on limited manpower and resources. It rarely ventures outside its domain of expertise, unless and until, it is asked to do so.
