Different versions are written by different scholars. There is no unified Qur'an, as the original copy written by Mohammed (PBUH) no longer exists. Just as King James standardized Bible as the King James version, Assad standardized Qur'an.

When the prophet had revelations they weren't any words involved in them. Instead he had to tell the companions about his revelations and they would write what was described. However this isn't to be misinterpreted. They didn't write the Quran. Allah did. The companions just recorded it. I feel like this is just BS news.
