the currently most used cells are of thin film tech.

India studies show thin-film panels more suited to hot Asian climes | CleanBiz Asia

That would be a win-win situation for both countries.....

nooooooo it wont, it will be just win for china, that is why 905 of panels in projects are made in india. many india companies have already developed technologies for thin film and crystalline tech and are now working on 3rd gen cells which will be used after 2020.

Modi have not done anything.

Its due to the location (sun light) and barren land available + govt. of India's encouraging policies.

Gujarat is not the only part in India with sunlight & barren land. & govt might have encouraging policies, but you need to have the audacity to implement it. By the sounds of things indian govt is clearly suffering from policy paralysis while Modi seems to be one of only few to make something out of it & stats does prove that too..

My friend, if Govt of India had such encouraging policies, you would see such initiatives in other parts of India too.

Also, just because you believe that Modi may be involved in 2002 riots does not mean that you do not acknowledge his accomplishments. He is helping Gujarat grow much faster than the rest of India and this is a fact.

That's not true. Gujarat and Rajasthan are the only one. Its about the maximum exposure to sun with maximum strength 365 days + barren land.

Friend if u look closely u will found that majority of SOLAR power projects are situated in Rajasthan and Gujarat only.

that's good news.. but it needs to be at pace on par with the likes of Gujarat. There are lots of projects on pipeline but bureaucratic hurdles are slowing the development pace down, wheras in gujarat it seems these hurdles are tackled pretty much instantly. why can't that happen in other parts of india too?

Namo is a visionary and an able leader, No doubt!!

I want to see him as India's PM and that would have been a cake walk for him, if he didn't had that unfortunate black spot in his career..

Partymen too busy filling their @$$e$ with tons of money ! Modi might have ruled Guj with an iron fist but his policies are more pro IND than any other Nehru-Gandhi crony or any of the previous Cong govts !
