i don't agree... i think wrestling is closer to wushu (chinese kungfu) than kabaddi, i don't know much about kabaddi (other than our men and women both won gold and ended india's gold dominance for the first time) but the 'take downs' seem more rudimentary rather than technical like a wrestling take down

The grappling comes in when the defenders are less than 4 and the agility and strength developed during years of explosive workout and deadlifts, squats and others strength training is exactly what is physically required in Kabaddi. I didn't said wrestling is the closest sports to Kabaddi but I said it is easier to transition from wrestling (and rugby) to Kabaddi.. BTW it is square Kabaddi played in asian games and other major tournaments.. The punjabi Kabaddi is the one where wrestlers can br most useful..

I don't care what he did in 2011 (yes it was good). We have not won any heavyweight olympic or world title for years. Am I suppose to be impressed?. Sorry but Behdad is just not good enough from what he has been delivering. We need a new heavyweight.
I would not be surprised if lasha turns out to be a dopper. We need to take back our glory in heavy weights.

there have only been 2 olympics since 2011 and behdad won gold in one and the jury screwed him out of a medal in the other... and you call this some terrible record... he has had bad injuries he had to come back from as well hence he hasn't taken part in every world championship.

yes lets go to the factory and build another heavyweight. we cannot just get a "new heavyweight" like that... behdad is our best 105kg+ weightlifter and if we get another one in the next 5-10 years as good as him we will be lucky.

only behdad and alihosseini have any chance of medals for us at 105kg+, but to have two potential medal winners in one category is a very privileged position, our real problem is every weight class below 85kg where we don't have any medal winners so you should be worrying about those (and even now at 85kg because Rostami has moved to 94kg, but the IWF new weight classes will complicate things)...

lasha did serve a 2 year ban for doping a few years ago, but so did alihosseini and they're all doping anyway tbh

Wrestler Parviz Hadi Pockets Iran’s Third Gold: Asian Games

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Parviz Hadi snatched Iran’s third gold medal in the 2018 Asian Games on Monday.


He claimed a gold medal in the men's freestyle 125 kg after defeating Chinese Deng Zhiwei 7-0 in the final match.

Hadi defeated Indian Sumit Malik and Oleg Boltin from Kazakhstan by technical superiority in his first two matches. He also defeated Uzbek wrestler Davit Modzmanashvili 11-8 in semi-final.

Iranian freestyle wrestlers Hassan Yazdani (86kg) and Alireza Karimi (97kg) had won two gold medals in the competition’s first day.

The 2018 Asian Games, officially known as the 18th Asian Games and also known as Jakarta Palembang 2018, is a pan-Asian multi-sport event scheduled to be held from 18 August to 2 September in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang.

The athletes compete in 465 events across 40 sports and 67 disciplines.

These are the 18th edition of the quadrennial event.

he has delivered multiple medals at multiple tournaments and broke the snatch WR, we are not "relying" on him except to the extent we have no choice because he is our best option at 105kg+ and is the second best in the world for that category! we cannot always have the best person in each category sometimes there will be someone exceptional who is better than everyone else like Lasha... that is life and sports....... you are clueless

Do I have to keep going in circles with you? The point I made was we lost out spot at the top, I don't care what other medals he is winning. We need to regain that spot and I don't see any reasons to see he will regain that spot. Do you understand or shall I dumb it down further?
