Asian Cycling: India Visa woes hit Iran, Pakistan

Another pre requisite should be that the country wanting to host the event should have some 'balls'.
A scaredy cat country still soiling their pant over dead kassab shouldnt be given mental depression and sleepless nights by asking them to host a 'sporting event' where well vetted, well kmown and security checked 'sportsmen' are sent to 'play'.

Lol, what substance is there to your comments? This is just pure, unnecessary abuse? I apoligise that India isn't Pakistan where the deaths of its citizens seems to have no noticeable effect on the Pakistani people, society or govt. But when an attack like 26/11 happens in INDIA then yes, there is a lot of concern and attention and FAIR ENOUGH if there are more restrictions imposed on those of the same nationality that launched these attacks!

I don't think it is anything other than 100% logical that India will act in a cautious and guarded manner to Pakistanis considering time and again Pakistan has hit India and innocent Indians- any reasonable nation acts like this.

All things considered Pakistanis should be happy India hasn't shut the borders to them completely.

Well India have the right to issue visas to every one they like . But if you accept to host such international events its your duty to issue visas for every participants , otherwise the federation of that sport and Olympic committee won't look to good toward you specially if the country who could not participate was a powerhouse and hopeful for that field
Visa has been granted. And there are already 10,000 Iranian students studying in India. They don't have to face problem, not that I know of.

Well India is lot safer for players than Pakistan. And we know difference between cowardice, surrender and practical solution, facing the threat.

@Safirz since you like the to use the term "only in India" a lot- only in Pakistan would people see their fellow countrymen being slaughtered on the streets by other countrymen and then have the audacity to launch an attack on a nation taking measures to protect their citizens from a similar fate.

Only weapons they are carrying is hanging between their legs:omghaha: stop boring us with half page essays and stop pretending that you are british. I have lived here my entire life and never seen someone using text book english in casual conversation unless you are my 60 year year old teacher from college.

Lol, I'm 19 not 60 and I guess my " text book english" is a result of my education. I have been lucky enough to attend some of the better schools in the UK.

It is amusing how you have reverted to using such strange personal attacks now, am I expected to apologize for my education?

+ I'm born and raised British.

+ @smuhs1 I fear we have strayed too far away from the matter at hand- let's just stay on-topic.

Friend I am not bothered at all, don't worry about it!
@smuhs1 I am aware I tend to go on a bit, I shall have to work on being a little more concise! This has been something I have always grappled with !

People usually dont pay attention to long comments unless they are very much into the topic. It wasnt that long dont worry. You should have seen a comment posted by someone today. I literally skimmed through and at the end apologised and left through back door ::omghaha:

Fair enough but I do try and stick to the topic as much as possible. Sometimes a long comment is perfectly warranted I feel.

India is following the orders of her new master US. India is trying to please US.

As far as Paksitan is concerned I think India has every right to cut ties with pakistan and shun Pakistan in every way it can.

In that case the feeling is mutual & people in Pakistan are also sick of this aman ka tamasha, however the matter @ hand is not a bilateral one, but that of an International sports event after all its Asian championship & not Indian championship that we are talking about

good that iranians got visas , really don't care if pakistanies come or not

I have to agree with you.

India is honour bound to give visas to the participating sports persons unless there is a clear, unambiguous threat from one or a few individuals.

Just because India is hosting the event does not mean that India can reject all the people from one nation.
