Asia Bibi's acquittal: TLP protests in various cities across Pakistan

.
Asia Bibi should be compensated for the decade of her life lost. Those challenging the writ of the state should be punished as per the law of the land. How can you justify giving death threats to Judges and senior army officials? How are organisations like TLP allowed to operate? Disgraceful.

Nothing will happen, they’ll cause a few millions in damage to Pakistan, shatter investor confidence and then will be paid to go home.

Pakistan is an extremist illiterate nation in majority, its time those of us hoping for a change and economic progress accept the reality and give up.
The biggest weapon they have against the voices that raised against them is fear , when you can't do anything declare them kafir or wajab-ul-qatal and some crazy person will take matters I'm his hands like a god in after life .

What we need is a body of government regularity body for cleric where they ask people not to take matters in their hands , as long as the government is there ( Islamic ) .

The moment we need a church like body to act as a head of religion is the day we've failed as a society and a state.

What we need is to get rid of the blasphemy law. Pakistan should also construct a large modern Church, Temple and other places of worship for her minorities. It's about time that we all act as equal citizens of one nation, we are members of the same state, no matter of our religion, creed or cast.

That is what we are supposed to be, but alas....
The mindset of the olden folks have deteriorated to the point where theres no hope for reason with them.

My family is also a victim to this and I am utterly devastated after my father openly supported rizvi for this.

I am questioning my birth and my ideals.
Where has the world gone wrong?

. . .
All started when Zia came into power and that gave birth to our present day. Look at the difference; Karachi in the 1960s and now.

True. However, it's not just Zia.
From my understanding.
Not long before he was hanged, Bhutto was also under the pressure by the mullahs.
However, under Zia they came to a more powerful roar.

Khair.

Everything went to the tatters.

Bring Law and order under control. Impose 144, conduct police/military parade, Issue shooting order for Anti elements. only way achieve peace

Agreed. We need something similar to the Turkish Diyanet.
Fact is that this incident is merely a source of political point scoring for these bastards. They are scum.

Pakistan was not made to be a theocracy. These are not my words - they're the words of the man who made Pakistan. The same man who was maligned as the "Kafir e Azam" by this very lot. The lot which stood against the creation of Pakistan.

Our (un)learned colleague wishes to say that the minority should be subjugated and controlled by the majority (which is, ironically, a very un-Islamic concept). He is the very person who would have opposed the creation of Pakistan 80 years ago. He is the lowest form of life.

We have given far too much in life and economy not to realise the damning effects these mullahs have had on our country.

I feel absolutely disgusted. My heart cries at the site of these fools bringing us to the ground. When shall we learn?

Very well said.

The mullahs talk about Islam, so lets put it this way: The two people that have done marvels for the Muslims of British India nor had a beard, nor wore a shalwar kameez (so called "Islami hulia"). In the modern day these people put "rahmatullah alaih" after Jinnah & Iqbal's names as a sign of respect however they don't remember Jinnah's 11 August speech, nor remember Iqbal's speech about keeping politics and religion separate.

Exactly! These mullahs even try to paint Jinnah and Iqbal as being the most conservative, right-wing characters In our history - they are quite literally rewriting history. Otherwise, they quite commonly continue maligning the Quaid, citing certain obscure elements from his private life. The downside is that people are very easily misled. The impressionable students of these buffoons now believe that Pakistan was, from the outset, meant to be a theocracy, ruled by people such as KHR. On the other hand, the equally misled left-wing class now view the Quaid in almost the same way.

The first time I was really heartbroken and disappointed was when I had to defend the Quaid against a full-blown mullah. The damned ignorant fool claimed to have read "hundreds" of books on him. Funnily enough, I questioned him on some of these books, and enquired whether he'd read books by, unbeknownst to him, fictional authors, and he answered in the affirmative! I am not even joking here!

I second your motion for compensation. Then to lock those other wretched bitches who made her go thru this torment.

In case such as this where a party was maligned unjustly, the same punishment is to be awarded to the accuser. The accuser can seek an apology which can be accepted/rejected by the accused. If the Supreme Court fails to undertake this, it means that the Blasphemy laws are biased and should be repealed.

While compensation should be given, it will be difficult assess its value. Any amount will be token.
(side note: There are inmates in Gitmo that are not being released because they refuse to sign a waiver to not file litigation against the US government to claim damages. Then there is a guy who got $75 for 31 years)
