Aselsan signed deal for TF-2000 CAFRAD Phase-I

-Phase-1 contains development of illumination radar and non-rotating IFF system.
-Phase-2 contains development of long range surveillance&Multifunctional radars.



Huge Radar complex of TF-2000 AAW frigate are formed with 4 surface which provides 360 degree surveillance/detection/tracking and identification. Each surface has 3 different scale of radar system.

The TF-2000 project aims to
provide the Turkish Naval Forces
with up to six frigates at an
estimated cost of between $.6
billion and $3 billion, with entry
into service planned from around
the end of the decade. The locally
built frigate design, expected to
displace more than 6,000 tonnes,
will have a strong anti-air
warfare bias centred on a
multifunction radar and a
medium-range area air-defence
missile system.
The SSM was unable to progress
the program to the next stage
until the Turkish Naval Forces
completed an assessment of
which version of Raytheon's
Standard Missile would be most
suitable for the new frigate. This
assessment has now been
concluded, with the navy opting
to continue with the SM-2.
Due to the large scope of the
program, a decision has been
made to split it into three
phases, beginning with a
design phase, followed by
construction of a prototype
ship, and then finally serial
production.

Yara, according to that statement, each ship will cost about 1 billion USD. But the price may will likely change. Because DzKK is still shy on some armements like wheater which missile will be used on air-defence. The price's concluded as SM-2 while the Navy is still in talks with Raeython's SM-3 and France/Italy's Aster.

Söz konusu sözleşme kapsamında teslimatlar 2014-2018 yıllarında gerçekleştirilecektir. Bu açıklama Savunma Sanayii Müsteşarlığı'nın 2 Ağustos 2013 tarihinde şirketimize ulaşan iznine istinaden yapılmıştır.

Summary in English;
A contract worth 200'000'000 TL [~ $103'702'200 USD] has been signed between ASELSAN and SSM [Undersecretariat for Defence Industries] regarding the 1st phase of the ÇAFRAD project. The deliveries will occur between 2014-2018.
