The Indonesian Aerospace Wulung UAV has achieved a key milestone with its attainment of a military type certification.
Developed jointly by Indonesian Aerospace and the government, the Wulung is aimed at military intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions, and other surveillance roles such as border patrol.
The certification process involved 13 flight tests of the Wulung, says Indonesian Aerospace in a statement
The system has been in testing for several years. The company says that when fully developed it will have a range of 100km from the controller, and a maximum cruising altitude of 5,500ft.

The
LAPAN LSU-02 (LAPAN Surveillance UAV-02) is an
unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) developed by the
Lembaga Penelitian dan Penerbangan Nasional (LAPAN) of
Indonesia. It was developed in 2012 for both civilian and military purposes. The Indonesian military classifies it as a tactical UAV because of its ability to fly over long ranges (300 km, theoretically 450 km) for its size. It broke an Indonesian record for longest ranged UAV built locally.
Like any other UAV, LSU-02 can be flown remotely and automatically fly (autonomous flying). Although the performance is still below Wulung, but because of the dimensions and the weight is quite light.
LSU-02 was to take off from a helicopter deck SIGMA Class corvettes KRI Diponegoro 365, LSU-02 has a role as a scout object of Exocet MM40 missiles targeted at Joint Exercises (Latgab) TNI, 2013 in Bawean Sea.
