As US pulls out of Afghanistan, its weapons head for Pakistan

Hasn't everything been going alright and according to the plan , just in another thread ? :D

A simple weapons sale and all hell breaks loose !

You know very well that this is the second time the same history has been repeating.

Post Soviet-Afghan war, a similar set of instances had happened with very similar conditions.

Naturally there will be concerns raised.

And it is not about arms-sale. It is about arms transfer.

There's a stark difference.

.
Oh but this thread is about Indian concerns of arms transfer to you especially when it has been done before.

How about you read the first post again.

Why dont you read it again? Default Re: As US pulls out of Afghanistan, its weapons head for Pakistan

I am not denying that , I just have had very different sort of comments on another thread from the same member so naturally I am surprised . :D If Afghanistan is boiling , so obviously the spillover effects will head over for the vicinity too . Doesn't really have anything to do with the arms transfer and here nothing except the AIM9X is even worth mentioning . In Pakistan's case , The U.S mode of supplying arms has been the same , there's no stark difference here .

And I am the one lazy here..

Here from the thread starter's article:

The last time Pakistan received advanced weapons from the Americans in the 1980s, it led to the eruption of a terrorism movement in Kashmir. It is understood that New Delhi’s concerns have been communicated to US vice president Joe Biden who was on a state visit here last month.

India’s security establishment has been receiving steady reports that a large consignment of advanced arms is being claimed by Pakistan. On the cards are large consignments of night vision devices, sniper rifles, laser target designators for the Pakistan Air Force and counter-IED equipment. But what has alarmed New Delhi is a move by Pakistan to get weapon systems that don’t have anything to do with counter-terrorism.

Reports indicate that the United States is considering handing over AMRAAM air-to-air and sidewinder missiles as well as M-270 multiple launch rocket systems. It is believed that since these could come under strict export controls, the weapon systems will be first handed over to a friendly third country, which, in turn, will hand them over to Pakistan. While India has expressed its concern over transfer of such weapon systems, the United States has been non-committal to New Delhi on the issue.

Do you even read what a poster posts or simply read the topic and fire your comments in?

Aren't you the one , who was hoping for a kill just a couple posts before , from 400 KM ?

N011M has a search range of 400 km and a tracking range of 200 km, with 60 km in the rear in the air to air mode. R 77 does 160km MAX and R27 130km MAX.

Ok , I will tell you a couple of things .

The ranges of the radar are always given with respect to RCS .
You do not get a lock on 400 KM , out of the question , mere detection isn't enough .
The detection of the aircraft/other hostiles depend on their Radar Cross Section . The less the RCS , the more harder the hostile is to detect and engage because the range comes down .
The R77's range strongly varies according to source .
There is a difference between the maximum range , effective range and no escape zone .
You never fire a missile at its maximum range and expect to get a kill .
