As trade with China grows despite tensions, Modi’s ‘self-reliant India’ dream fades
  • Despite military tensions, a pandemic and calls for a boycott of Chinese goods, two-way trade has grown by over five per cent, with China leapfrogging the US as India’s largest trade partner
  • That puts a question mark over Narendra Modi’s campaign for self-reliance in manufacturing, with some experts warning it’s a ‘fallacy’ to believe China’s role can be easily replaced

The best quality of elected leaders are their ability in speech rather than action.

Economic development must comply with economic laws. China is in the middle and upper reaches of the economic development chain, the high-end is the United States, and India is in the lower reaches.

India is the perfect example of complete disaster when it comes to managing the country. Everything that can go wrong goes horribly wrong as if the grim reaper has put the death mark on its prey. Only by disintegrating into different country pieces will it be able to escape the sand of time which is keeping India captive.

How dumb can be a author be? India has initiated PLI scheme to become self reliant by 2025. We can't be self reliant in a week. India had a covid surge, hence needed to import lot of medical equipment, hence the upsurge. India exported a lot more to China too in the process.

We are not like our dumb neighbors who would cut off their nose to spite their face. Lol.

"Trade between China and India soared 70.1% in US dollar terms in the first five months of this year to $48.16 billion, according to Chinese customs data released on Monday. Specifically, Chinese exports to India grew 64.1% year-on-year from January to May, while imports surged 90.2%,” the tabloid Global Times reported.

As per data available in China, the rise in trade, specifically Chinese exports to India, rose sharply between April and May. Duh.

This upsurge will die down soon enough. Lol.

China has already over taken the u.s. in purchasing power parity.
