Underestimating the enemy and bragging is Chinese hallmark. So nothing surprising coming from you. By the way India is the third largest economy on the planet with 2.5 million strong army with nukes and with a 1.3 billion people.

3rd largest? dream on. No one serious takes PPP seriously. India is dirt poor with 95% of the population still lacking proper sanitation.

India nukes have been proven to be unreliable and you haven't proven you have working nukes.

India has about 50 separatist movements all across because India is not a country as there was no such thing as 'India' before the British glued together a union called 'India'.

Lets see now, your allies - Pakistan, a half bangladesh, Burma, North Korea. ..not a list anybody would be envious about.

India has no allies as India has nothing to give anyone

So you are another communist slave  first get freedom, then we can talk

All south Asian states favor China over India.

I think, you should talk for Pakistan only, and let others do the talking for themselves.your perception about relationship between India and its neighbour can take a hike...

topic...

the article missed much about India-China tussle in Bhutan,Seychelles,Myanmar and Maldives.plus,it didn't properly mention Indo-Vietnam reletionship as well as entire spectrum of "Look East".and another point to note."Look East" policy's success has nothing to do with Modi or any other Govt. Its a long term policy and Govt Changed, but Long Term Policy of a country stays unchanged.its a hard won success.I studied somewhere that even in countries like Combodia and Thailand, whose relationship never gets that much of attention in media, this policy has seen massive success.

The OP is a well-known Indian-American troll named @JayAtl

You can tell by his telltale inferiority complex to project himself as the ultimate American. Forget China or Pakistan, this guy used to get into fights with Indians when he lectured the lowly "Indian" Indians as an exalted "American".

No serious person pays attention to his posts any more, except as a source of amusement.

Exactly what I thought. The 'US state department guy' is Jayatl - they have the same prose style involving lots of misplaced spaces and run-on sentences.

China will destroy India in a war. US cannot do a thing about it. US is just hoping that India will do some damage to China before it goes down.

China is the future of Asia, india may play second fiddle at best. Sure it is a viable market for the US, there are monetary gains to be made, scope for strategic-mutual-cooperation, with the added connotation of limiting the Chinese influence across the continent. Which i suspect wont happen anytime soon, China is still and will be the 'big boss' of Asia, for many years to come. When we look at the grand scheme of things, consider Asia in it's entirety, india is then relegated by stronger economies and militaries.

Just to put things into perspective and to shed some light on the issue:
Indian members tend to overlook the fact that the Chinese have a nominal GDP around 5 times that of theirs, (PPP) GDP, around 2.5x that of india, exports of around $2.2 trillion approx, which is in stark contrast to india's apparent $315bn (approx) export. Moreover, China's foreign reserves amount to just under $4 trillion, dwarfing india's $320bn by manifolds. In conjunction to the vast economic-chasm witnessed between the two countries, there is the vast-military chasm which China enjoys also. All of which to say, China has all the advantages over india, given it's astute/shrewd leadership and will maintain it's monopoly over Asia for many years to come.

Well said :D

China does have a monopoly over Asia and it is Asia's big boos, it best noticed in the following-
1. PRC's successful control of Taiwan.
2. Chinese control SCS.
3. Chinese success of coercing Japan into accepting Senkaku Islands as Chinese territory.
4. Chinese success of coercing India into accepting Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim as Chinese territory.

Its easy to fake IP addresses, so it's hard to prove same identity. But these guys give themselves away easily enough by their posting patterns.

don't be so confident... since india takes Obama more sacred than holy cows, you'd soon expect some Obama Dungs and Obama Urine Cola on offer in indian streets after this visit. :D

India is nothing but western pawn with no independent foreign policy which is why whenever the West wants a favour, they go to India to help preserve Western dominance.

The west will continue to control both the Indians and Arabs.

This is why Arab and Indian blood is cheaper than seawater.

All south Asian states favor China over India. Only thing big about India is its population and its size. Find me one South Asian country that can be regarded as an Indian 'ally'...there is none due to India's own silly quest for hegemonic control of the region which won't come to fruition.
1.25 billion people are the best ally of India, u.s ,Russia and even china they come to us unlike Pakistan whose traditional 'ally' u.s bomb your civilians and A.H 64 wipe out an entire military outpost and even china never saved you from India.

China will destroy India in a war. US cannot do a thing about it. US is just hoping that India will do some damage to China before it goes down.

No one takes Hindus seriously. Not even the Americans.
Muslims of Gujrat Bihar and U.P takes hindus very very very seriously..... Google how?

I give up, you caught me. What gave it away- was jayatl a zionist too?

The new robust diplomacy, which Modi calls "Act East", has delighted Washington, which has been nudging India for years to dovetail with the U.S. strategic pivot toward the region.

When President Barack Obama makes a landmark visit to India starting Sunday, he will be the chief guest at New Delhi's showpiece Republic Day military parade, and rarely for a presidential trip, is not scheduled to visit any other country before returning to Washington.

I've never seen a retired state dept employee working for the Indian lobby before (being sarcastic). Here's the end game and sadly, we are not paying attention to the history. We (The US) will go all out in supporting India for the Chinese threat. We'll outsource our jobs and business (already have worth trillions), and we'll do more, just like a real ally and an honest strategic partner does.

But, is India going to do the same???? I can bet my money on it she won't. In fact, once we've transferred advanced tech and all to be "made in India", we'll never achieve our strategic objectives from India, the way we see them today. This whole "strategic ally" is more from the US's side than from the Indian side. The Indian side is just in it for the advancement of their country.

In the next ten years, India and China would've become one of the largest trading partners. Ending the "rivalry" due to trade interests. At that time, we'll just be a powerful country who wouldn't have get the real benefits of the strategic partnership as India will think for itself before anything else. Not sure why our politicians are ignoring the fact. I'd still keep a close eye on China and be ready to counter her on our own. Like that old saying goes, the grapes are sour.

I give up, you caught me. What gave it away- was jayatl a zionist too?

Oh, HA!!! I remember you know. A LONG time ago, one one of my posts, you (at that time with JayATL screen name), once told me "Meet the State dept. and the State Dept. meet Orangzaib". lol. Yea, I totally see the resemblance. So are you a retired state dept employee now working for some Indian lobby firm to show your real loyalty to your "true" homeland??? I bet it pays big bucks!
