Apple CEO Tim Cook has made a ‘surprise’ visit to China. According to a report by Bloomberg, Cook arrived in the country and visited the city of Chengdu, where he interacted with gamers. As per the report, Cook also met with gamers of Tencent’s popular game, Honour of Kings.

Cook posted on Chinese social media platform Weibo about his interaction with gamers. “The action-packed Honour of Kings started here in Chengdu and is now a global phenomenon on the App Store. Thank you TiMi Studio Group and all the talented gamers who were competing at Apple Taikoo Li Chengdu. The energy tonight was off the charts,” he wrote. As the tweet suggests, Cook went to the Apple Taikoo Li store in Chengdu as well.

Huawei’s phones more popular
According to another report by Bloomberg, which cites a report by Counterpoint Research, Huawei’s Mate 60 Pro has outsold the iPhone 15 in China. In fact, the sales of iPhone 15 series are less compared to the iPhone 14 series. In the first 17 days, as per the report, the sales of iPhone 15 series are 4.5% less than that of iPhone 14 series.

Analysts at Jeffries, on the other hand, say that Apple’s sales have declined in double-digit percentage. The analysts also predict that Huawei could beat Apple in China in 2024. "The trend suggests iPhone would lose to Huawei in 2024," writes Jefferies analysts. "We believe weak demand in China would eventually lead to lower-than-expected global shipments of iPhone.” Since China is one of the biggest smartphone market — and an extremely crucial one for Apple — the overall shipments of iPhone could be impacted.

Counterpoint Research says that the Chinese economy is still suffering due to the Covid-19 pandemic and that has had an impact on the sales of iPhones in the country.

On October 17. Apple CEO Tim Cook visits a primary school in a small rural mountainous town Ya'an, watches how the kids write codes and takes a drone operation class.and donates 25 million Yuan ( $ 3.52 million) to the local rural development fund to help rural teachers and kids to gain more access to high tech education.10月17日,库克在四川省雅安市雨城区第四小学与学生们体验了创意花窗课程和用iPad编程控制无人机课程。另据苹果官网消息,苹果将向中国乡村发展基金会捐款2500万元人民币,该新增的捐助将用于帮助农人学习新的技能以发展业务,并提供技术和数字化教育资源为乡村地区的学生和教师赋能。

Futile efforts, even he is bending backward to curry favor with China and comes to China once every a couple of months, China will still prefer and support Huawei more, there's difference between a child of your own flesh and blood and the one who is adopted.

.
I was once considering an honor device back in 2018 but dropped it due to heating issues and it having an inferior gpu. Then honor left the market after the whole us sanctions thing. (Basically huawei as honor is a subbrand)
Honor is back in the Indian market, they launched a mid range device recently. Dunno how's the device though never saw any reviews for it.
Anyways I do like the cameras on the flagship Huawei mate series phones but now that they don't run android it's pretty hard to consider one, also performance wise snapdragon with tsmc fabrication is just faster and more efficient.

🤔 Apparently that also means your other cellphone companies were all bastard childs since Apple apparently was #1 before Huawei had its release.

Of course it could just be Chinese are mindless lapdogs of the US.

lol, unless the child you strongly believed being yours is actually China's. maybe this is why many US politicians believe China is raping US, they are kind of true in a sense.

LOL! You can try and rationalize in your head why the Chinese people are treating your other homegrown cell phone children companies lower than that laowai Apple.

Sure the Chinese can worship the American Apple 🍎 🧎🏽and if it makes you happy you can put it on a pedestal as the "special citizen golden child" that is simply held to a higher esteem than the native born children if you want. :coffee:

Or you can skip using hyperbole that ends up unintentionally putting Chinese companies in a bad light when actually thought through...

Huawei alone outsells apple, let along all other domestic companies all together, and China has many products sell pretty well in US, that's why China enjoy a huge trade surplus against US, does it mean you Americans treat those Chinese companies as gods? what's wrong with your brain?

It has outsold it for the last month.

LOL! Name one Chinese brand that you think is #1 in the US...all I can think of is DJI...and that is a relatively small market compared to something like phones. Yes, you have a trade surplus but in terms of consumer brands that surplus is mostly from foreign companies using China as a cheap manufacturing source...as they do with other Asian countries like Bangladesh.

Americans treat those Chinese companies as gods? what's wrong with your brain?

What brands are "those" again that Americans would see as Gods?

Huawei is just one Chinese brand, China has many phone brands, and over 95% of apple phones are made in China too

China exports many home applainces to US, and US restricts China's high tech products, Huawei would take over US if not for Trump's ban, but still, more China enjoys huge trade surplus over US, meaning US buys more Chinese products, based on your theory, more Americans treat Chinese products like gods than the other way around.

Yes, so are you saying the engineering minds at "adoped" Apple are far smarter than the minds of all the other "flesh and blood" cell phone manufacturers in China since Apple was the #1 phone brand in China up until Huawei's latest release? Considering if Apple makes the phones in China that shows the playing field is even in terms of manufacturing costs.

Personally it looks like the people of China up untl recently were forsakening the flesh and blood brands and white worshipping Apple...or being the US's lapdog (like Japan) when it comes to phones.

Stop lying, Huawei was the No.1 phone brand in China and the world before US started Huawei ban, but now Huawei is quickly back to the top in China.

Four years ago in 2019, it was Huawei's peak moment. At that time, Huawei's global mobile phone shipments were 240 million units, surpassing Apple's 198 million units. According to statistics from third-party platforms, Huawei's global mobile phone shipments in the second quarter of 2020 Huawei's mobile phone shipments reached 55.8 million units, surpassing Samsung's 53.7 million units, and achieved first place in the world for the first time. This is also the first time in more than ten years that Huawei has surpassed Samsung.

Ah so you are saying all the other Chinese phone brands are 2nd rate jokers and shouldn't even be taken seriously. I guess they are indeed all bastard childs instead of flesh and blood.

Thanks for clearing that up.
