Ok, I am sure that you are very friendly in real life. Let us end it here and apologize to each other. I feel bad because you said that you were a woman.
Sorry.

Side comment. That avatar is not positive or respectful toward religion don't you think so?

Then we very much agree.

I will now tell you something. Here in Denmark many women wear really revealing clothes and it seems they love the attention so I think it depends very much on your upbringing, culture, religion and manners. Some people have no inhibitions.

But hey, that is apparently human rights some say.

Don't ever submit to the people, these are just their ideas. In reality it doesn't exist and it doesn't have to be a norm. It's just an idea in these people's heads that these factors make up women's rights. Rights in their world is something else they made up. Always to submit to God. Remember our Prophet(SAW) told us life for us on this earth will be like a jail. No matter how many people object to our beliefs numbers won't determine who is right. People only look at the general view on women in Islam and don't take time to study it or understand its role in society and it's benefits. Of course we value their education even higher than ours. In Gaza many educated people are women and most employees in hospitals I've seen are women and they work in pharmacies and teach and else. But, we hold our women in a different standard but I honestly think Islam has been in decline and what I see in our nations is not a good thing brother. I'm not speaking of Arabic nations only, even in Gaza some people have started taking drugs. I don't like these things nor the Viagra drugs people take in Arabic nations. We need to work on our people. Urgently. And we shouldn't panic, the Prophet saw these things worse than we did and he was bent on purifying your society. It's natural, we shouldn't think of it as evil because God knows humans do wrong things, he wants to see our dedication to him and in the end these people become some of the best. They really do transform. It's just that we need to work it on it correctly and the new generation has a responsibility. Sometimes I feel the American Muslim community in some areas and better than Muslims overseas in some aspects and vice versa.

And keep your unsolicited advices to yourself :coffee:

Levina, you need to look at the overall society, then you will begin to see how Islam works. Please take into consideration, our religion and society has been in decline. Look at our past leaders such as Umar Ibn Khattab. He used to sleep on a sheet even though he was a Caliph. Look at our Prophet(SAW), or his cousin Ali(RA). They made people love Islam and it had great appeal when we had less corruption and civil conflict.

Hazzy
90% of my friends are muslims.And i think it started as a very broadminded religion.But somewhere down the line some ppl forgot what it stood for.
I hope this thread doesnt turn into a thread against a particular religion.

Ok, I am sure that you are very friendly in real life. Let us end it here and apologize to each other. I feel bad because you said that you were a woman.

Nope al-Hasani ,I dont hold a grudge against anyone here...not even you.
I respect every religion.Its just that on this thread you felt i was being against your religion and on another thread ppl of my own religion thought i was a traitor.I found it funny and used that profile pic and used an appropriate signature to justify it.

And you dont have to feel bad because i am a woman.If you respect woman respect them in real life,thats all i would like to say.

it has to be something wrong with the culture of the countries in middle east and south asia(including India) that women are seen as subjects as well as ultra conservative culture which prevents interaction between the sexes. I've read that during the earlier times, the Arabian peninsula women enjoyed much freedom unlike what muslims believes pre-Islamic Arabia was. strict religions and extreme patriarchal societies makes women "feel inferior" and prevents women from getting equality. note - the biggest problem is religion and religion enforcers who don't belong to present time.

Very legitimate argument I must say. I applaud you on it :agree:

Don't try to protect women. I think this is where the problem arises. Give women enough power to protect themselves. In a time when women are considered equal to men, I see no reason why only women should be protected. By trying to "protect" what you do is imposing unnecessary laws that are against basic human rights.

What kind of a tool should be given to women to guarantee their protection? It it a judicial one, authoritative, social or else?

@al-Hasani & @levina

Both of you have been exchanging insults in person and toward each other's country. You guys should have not gone to this level when you created this mess.

@al-Hasani

I understand that you have been upset about Levina's inaccurate information, and flaming comments. However, you should understand that adding an insult to an injury will never help solving this issue between you both. I politely ask you to refrain from harassing her please.

@levina

I'm shocked to see how disproportionate and excessive your reactions to Hasani's post where especially when you happen to be a responsible mother of a child at least. Most of the comments you made were against the basic principles of a free-thinking, constructive, and meaningful debate. Instead of pinpointing the issue in an appropriate manner, you chose to wear a dark cloth of intolerance, which is very disappointing not for myself only but to many.

I hope you guys will man up and stop attacking each other. Both of your countries happen to have pros and cons in there societies. Let's highlight the positive side, and stress out the necessity to find a solutions to the negative issues.

I would say start with strong judicial protection then the society will automatically adjust if it has to be adjusted at all.

Since our political system protects criminals even so not much to be expected in terms of granting women protection in any way.

I knew you were suggesting using a tool such as this, but I honestly think that it all has to do with the family per female. And by the way, We did implement it in 2006, it might take some time especially with low-life scums like those.

Sometimes, Saudi women scare me to death. :D

My understanding of Saudi society is pretty low except for the few Saudis I know who are very liberal so that's why I thought the fault has to be in the judiciary system where there are discriminatory laws towards each sex be it for the advantage or disadvantage of women. My question is why can't there be one law for both men and women?

I seriously dont think we needed a mediator here.But still appreciate your efforts.
I thought me and @al-Hasani had sorted it out already.
And i am surprised that you always read half of my every post and then come down attacking right at my womanhood.
Your last post in another thread was nothing but a personal attack on me for no apparent reason and came without a remorse. It was then that you had crossed the line of a "constructive and meaningful debate".

Though in my every post i have maintained that its not just about KSA or some of the ME countries ,issues against women exist in all the countries.....including mine.
But you pay no heed to such sentences.And i am still wondering why???
I have only pinpointed out the issues,which are not be hushed up whether in India or KSA.

Your post was unnecessary to say the least,but atleast you've not resorted to personal attack like you did last time....so fine.
And i dont think we need another session of one to one posts on this thread again.Period.

Guys it is just a forum. I have not a problem with anyone. Me and Levina had a little discussion, nothing wild, no personal insults, maybe a little harsher tone than normal and that was it. We did not harm anyone physically or kill anyone.

This is a forum where you don't know where the line is crossed or what to say because some users get really personal while some do not.

Levina, I also believe that you must calm down a little with the claims of personal attacks (just took a quick glance on your reply to Khalifa) Nobody has attacked you personally or called you any bad words from what I have seen. If you consider me writing that I thought that you behaved like a troll by saying that you had no problem with religion despite seeing you with a avatar saying (ban/no to religion 24 hours earlier) it was not a personal attack. I even later apologized for that and that was it. I did it because I could see that you were not a troll like many users here are, despite some provocative comments, whether intended or not, and when I learnt that you were a woman I left it at that. Not because I believe that women are better than men, but just because I normally never have disagreements with women since I consider that to be very rude for a man to do.

So let us leave it with that. I don't even remember what we discussed in that first discussion anyway. It was a short discussion. I have had hundreds of them here anyway.

@al-Hasani
I thought we had sorted it out already.

But i would maintain i was attacked personally by khalifa in the last thread where you and him had "interacted" with me.Personal attack doesnt always have to have an abusive tone....sometimes it can be plain sarcastic comment on one's personal life.Khalifa and you have crossed it twice on two different threads.
Its high time members here learnt to agree to disagree without making personal comments.Its downright offending.

But i think i am over it now and i dont have anything against anyone here.
Peace.

@al-Hasani next time when you quote me use @ symbol so that I can get a notification and also so that I can answer you back.

Saudi women have presence inside KSA parliament (Shura council) where they can deliver their voice and raise their issues. So before lecturing others try to deal with your issues back home where women are marginalized and sexually assaulted.
