What's new

Arriving in Pakistan on August 15, an Indian recounts his visit

The difference between Pakistanis and indians is far greater than that between Russians and Americans. Majority of Americans have a White European heritage as do the Russians. Most white people look the same and have the same origins regardless of which country they originate from and they are all predominantly Christian. Pakistanis are a unique race that differs vastly from Indians. The only similar race in both india and Pakistan are Punjabis. But they make up 60% of Pakistan and no more than 3% of india. Therefore at least 97% of Indians are racially and physically different to Pakistanis. Also I live in London (UK), the most cosmopolitan city in the world. I see all the races of humanity everyday. Physically speaking, the difference between Pakistanis and Indians is as big as they come. Indian look like Indians and although not Middle Eastern, Pakistanis resemble Arabs, Turks and Iranian/Persians. When I go to the Mosque, I find it hard to distinguish an Arab from a Pakistani, Turk or Persian. Another difference is that india is a secular but hindu dominated nation. Pakistan is a Muslim country with a strong Islamic ethos. Pakistani people we're never really a part of a united india in any way whatsoever and we're never destined to be. You are right, the chasm of difference as the years pass will only increase. The Indians have their destiny and Pakistanis have their own which are completely different to eachother.

I can tell an Arab a mile away .
No way in hell do Arabs look like Pakistanis ,:D
Pakistanis like it or not do not differ vastly from Indians heck we share the Same History ,foods,Language,Dress Music & Culture ,Apart from religion what else do we share with Arabs ?

We all know indians are treated exceptionally well in Pakistan. That's not new, there are numerous article that appear all the time.

Question is how are pakistanis treated in India? Because india is on my bucket list and would love to visit it. But do I have to refrain from indulging my identity in hotels and restaurants and other places of public? I know Pakistani singes and actors go there all the time but would love to know an average Pakistanis recent visits to India.

So you are the citizen of Al Bakistan., By the way no Arab thinks Pakistanis are Arabs, except for the citizens of Al Bakistan.

Any more wars are not possible between Pakistan and Bharat because of the presence of WMD's on both sides. It is in the best interest of both to develop friendly relations and benefit each other. European countries also fought wars against each other for long decades and centuries but they later decided to form a common economy.

Bharat also has many names. It is called Bharat, India and Hindustan. Which name of Bharat do you like personally?

There is a difference. Al Bakistan is Pakistan's attempt of forced association to Arabs or to become wannabe arabs , while Bharat, India and Hindustan are names of the same country. We Indians are Indic people with a civilization that is 7000 years old and are proud of it.

To add it is very difficult to associate Pakistan with or compare Pakistan with india as we are completely different to india in every possible way. For a start india has a population approximately 7x that of Pakistan. Pakistanis differ to indians in terms of physical looks, race, heritage, genetics, religion, culture and beliefs. The only thing indian on Pakistan's consciousness is to prevent them from attacking/invading us. Other than that, india means nothing to us. Pakistan's long term future lies in our consolidation with our relationship with China and establishing more links with the Muslim nations to our west in the long term. Pakistan and Pakistanis have absolutely got nothing to do with india or indians whatsoever. Comparing Pakistan to india is like comparing Lebanon, Jordan or Turkey to india. Or like comparing a tiger to an elephant.

When we say Pakistanis and Indians are similar, we mean that Indian and Pakistani have many things in common than Africans...:-)
Let the quest for finding common grounds continue.

Lol........I stated in one of my post that Pakistanis ARE NOT of Middle Eastern/Arab heritage but that Pakistanis physically resemble Arabs, Turks and Iranians more so than they do any other group of people. Much the same way as a lot of Brazilians and Argentinians resemble the Italians, Greeks and other South East Europeans even though there is no direct massive racial link between the South Americans and South Eastern Europeans. The major link being Roman Catholicism much the same way Islam being the main link between Pakistanis and other Middle Eastern peoples.

Genetics may not be a subject in madrassas, but believe me human race evolution has to do a lot with genetics. Brazilians and Argentinians resemble southern Europeans because South America was under colonial rule of Portugal and Spain. And lot of people from Portugal and Spain have settled there since then.

Indians don't have any problem whether Pakistanis being Arabs, Turks or Persians. It is Arabs, Turks and Iranians that have problem with Pakistanis calling themselves Arabs and Turks

My advice: Educate Arabs, Turks and Iranians of you being Arabs, Turks or Persian and not us Indians. You can start with educating @terry5. By the way we don't consider you people to be Indic too. You people are too different from us Indians.

I live in London, UK. The most cosmopolitan city on earth. I see and interact with nearly all the races on earth daily. So I'm in a better position to make a judgement than most. The majority of indians and Pakistanis who say that they are the same as one another are the ones who are based in their own countries and who have never really come across or meet an indian or Pakistani in real life or in significant numbers to make a valid judgement on whether the 2 are similar or not. They believe any bs, lies or propaganda the media says. Even the indians living in the UK admit that Pakistanis are completely different to them in every single way possible and that they find it difficult to distinguish Pakistanis from other Middle Eastern/Muslim people. I have studied with and worked with indians for the last 20 years in London and on not 1 occasion or instance did I find that I was similar to or had anything in common with them. To me indians are a very foreign, odd and peculiar people. With all other non-Pakistani Muslims I find it very easy to relate to and build a relationship with. To me, indians are just as different to Pakistanis as Ethiopians are.

Don't know about other places but here in London the Pakistanis, Arabs, Turks and Persian get along really well together. We all pray at the same mosques and are now in ever increasing numbers, intermarrying with one another.

You are absolutely 100% correct though, Pakistanis are not indic/indian and we are too diffrrent from one another. Any Pakistani who falsely thinks they are indian is more than welcome to convert to hiduism or sikhism.

In the following three days, I came to understand the people of Pakistan even further, and discovered that basically, we are more alike than different.

The average Pakistani has the same anxieties as we do in India – price hikes, children's safety and education, the impact of saas-bahu TV serials on our family life, and a deep concern for the future.

Obviously. However PDF trolls gives the impression otherwise.

OK..Let me over simply this... have u ever tried to enjoy a bollywood movie with Ethiopian...or Cherished "Chupke Chupke raat din.." by Ghulam Ali with a Kenyan.
I repeat make people from 100 nations stand in front of me...I will identify myself closer to a Pakistani than anyone else.
(I am talking here about similarities and not differences, yes there are many and we have fought wars over them.)

I had a Colombian girl friend, so I know more about South Americans intimately than you can ever imagine. And for your information Columbia is South American country.

I lived in London for 5 years. I know how well Pakistan and Arabs get along. Their interaction is minimal. Races evolve when there is mating among different people. And there was/is no incidence of large scale mating happened/happening between Arabs and Pakistanis. The key to looking a like is not religion but mating between people. This is called genetics.

As on Indic, I always maintained that the land that is now called Pakistan is Indic land and you people are occupiers of our land.

I was born, raised and still live in London. Have done so for the last 35 years. And have friends of all races bar indians. My personal experience is completely different and opposite of yours. Growing up and living in a place all your life gives you a more accurate assessment of a city than a foreigner who has lived there for a few years. Besides it is very difficult for an indian to describe the relationships of Pakistanis with others just as I cannot from an indian POV.
