Three Chinese nationals who each paid smugglers $35,000 were apprehended Tuesday after illegally crossing the southern border.
Fox News’ Bill Melugin was with Texas Department of Public Safety troopers when they witnessed the three Chinese nationals and a woman from Colombia cross illegally into Mission, Texas. The town lies near the southern tip of Texas, along the Rio Grande, and is a hotbed for illegal smuggling activity.

Texas DPS Trooper Lt. Chris Olivarez told Fox News the four individuals were brought across on a raft from Mexico.
The Chinese nationals told troopers, through an interpreter, that they each paid the smuggler $35,000 to cross illegally into the U.S. Smugglers typically charge Chinese nationals at a higher rate.
"This is an example of how much money is involved with human smuggling and how it strengthens transnational criminal organizations who exploit the vulnerabilities from illegal immigrants and expose the open border policies imposed by the federal government," Olivarez said.
Of course, the US is still one of the most attractive destinations for immigrants in the world, Chinese are no exception. Afterall China is still a developing country. Reason many Chinese, Indians, Iranians and even Russians and people around the world who can afford to travel to the US to give birth so their child can get US citizenship and all the benefits that comes with it. Having US citizenship affords you with lots of advantages that a Chinese, Iranian, or Russian passport can never offer you. So i don't blame them , i will have done the same thing.
I mentioned already, it's true that some Chinese still had that old delusion about US, but this last remnant of US delusion is also fast fading out, could be totally gone in a decade. and US is an immigration country, almost all Americans are immigrants and most Americans are still of European origin, they left Europe for different reasons, and America is always an immigration country , a place where people from different cultures and background can go and start a completely new life, this is not true in China, China is never an immigration country and culture is very homogeneous, like Japan and Korea, China also largely doesn't allow foreign immigration, so coming to China illegally totally has no future while in the states almost every illegal immigrant can become citizen somehow in the end, this is a mjor pull for people have troubles in the home countries to go to US.
But how come there are more Americans are of European origin? why did they leave their home countries? America is an immigration country, people from all cultures and background can mix there, China is not, China is an immigration friendly country. where were your ancestors from? why did they leave their home countries?
I lived in US, we all you what you said it not true, tons of illegal immigrants in US working normal jobs and starting businesses, and they almost all managed through different ways to get US citizenship after staying in US for some years. US is a paradise for illegal immigrants and fugitive criminals.
I don't how, but they just can, ask other Americans for confirmation.
But they can never become Chinese citizens no matter how long they stay, in US, almost all of them can become citizens as long as they stay long enough, this is why China is never an immigration country while US always is.
