Well, this "RAW" journalist is not retiring so there is no point going gaga or sulking over the news of his quitting Times Now. Yes, Arnab is either loved or hated by his viewers. I loved his style of questioning or interrogation should I say but I hated him for not letting his victims speak. I tried many times to watch his debates but none I could finish or tolerate beyond 10 minutes. His impact is so powerful that almost all prime time anchors began copying him. Thankfully I have RSTV to fall back on. Pretty Arifa Khanam Sherwani remains my favorite anchor.

Strange you should say that. While I abhor the violence embedded in Communist doctrine, she is one of the spunkiest opponents to the trolls who are to be found in high places these days. I face enough shit not to want to name them. I am so glad you noticed her (I don't watch TV, so I didn't know this, and am glad to learn it), and I am glad she kicked his butt. I feel sorry for his followers as they have been deprived of the non-stop entertainment. Condolences. But for sure he is make a big come back anytime soon. Nonetheless dont get surprised if U see sharp decrease in stress related meds till he is off air.

Although I'm from Assam (Arnab's home state), I saw one or two of his debates and swore never to watch any debate (even in other channels) again. Hell I've stopped watching all news channels. Only internet news for me, where at least I can choose not to read the loud, pompous and hateful ones.

Arnab has set a style and new norms for news anchor.

Way back in 1950s, Dilip Kumar had done this kind of trendsetting in Bollywood which still is being followed by some present days actors.

Whether one likes it or not but we have to live with this kind of cacophony in TV news debates in times to come.

Actually Arnab was no trendsetter. He is an opportunist who merely copied the style, tenor and hypernationalism of regional news channels which were always kind of looked down upon and never taken seriously. The English news channels were always manned by balanced news anchors and NDTV was pretty much the stalwart and pioneer in that realm - even Arnab earned his spurs in NDTV.

Unfortunately, he will be back. I am just glad for the next weeks I don't have to adjust the volume when flipping channels.

RSTV is my fav too, but only for debates.. the news is pro govt and biased as any other indian news channel.

Will wait for that than. But don't you think he will lose his viewership very quickly because slowly people will realize that he is biased.
