A war is not only fought with ammunitions. Its more about logistics, and the same thing applies during peacetime as well. Most of the ammunition has a limited shelf life and cannot be stored beyond a certain duration, because of the corrosive nature of the propellants. We have heard a lot of stories of old ammunition malfunctioning and rendering the tanks and guns useless. These storage dumps and depots require space and proper infrastructure with proper maintenance personnels. Now looking at the size of India Armed forces increasing the WWR by even merely 10% percent would require a lot infrastructure improvements and hence it will bear additional cost to the exchequer and will take time to come up. But since we are in the process of modernization and acquiring newer weaponry, there is a limited scope of improvement on this front, till we are sure of the kind of ammunitions we will require.

1) Firstly, no Army/ Navy/ Airforce will reveal its stockpiles. Noobs on this forum believe a trashy newspaper will have state secrets (whatever the sources cited) that even enemies spend millions to find through spies/ covert ops

2) Secondly, even if it is true, we have enough friendly countries (Israel, Russia, even Francse if RAFALE is selected ) to help us during wartime overtly or covertly. Infact, this has already happened during Kargil war of 1999.

3) All said and done, if we can cut Pakistan into half in 2 weeks, in 20 days we can atleast make another 2.5 halfs of it

Your army will have no ammo on D+21. Your navy is busy wife-swapping when their craft don't blow up at berth and IAF coffins won't fly. I know what I am talking about. As of this day Raheel Sharif can reach Panipath-Delhi in three days.
