Army revives interest in Light Specialist Vehicle

So why did the army order more Gypsy vehicles
This was an urgent requirement I guess. The trials and evaluations for this LSV will take years, the IA can't jeprodise their operational requirements today for something that may or may not come in 4-5 years time. It was a pragmatic decision.

Hope the Army chooses a Indian Product,the last thing we need is to import these kind of vehicles

Well either way the requirement for such vehicles would be so mammoth (10s of thousands for the IA alone, all other military branches and CAPFs who currently use the Gyspy are likely to adopt the new LSV also) that they would have to be made in India anyway.

But yes, I see no reason why an Indian manufacturer shouldn't be selected for this particular requirement.

The thing is we would look very stupid if we import such a simple piece of tech despite having such a advanced Auto mobile sector

to my knowledge both mahindra & TATA never stopped working on there respective LSVs both for domestik and international markets with an eye of middle easter & south american markets news is even bajaj is working on couple of models

lets see who trumps
