ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has told a meeting on the National Action Plan (NAP), presided over by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, that the army, Rangers or intelligence agencies are not backing the Pak Sarzameen Party.

Sources told The News that the Sindh chief minister raised the issue of this party, stating that a ‘party’ was giving an impression in the province that whosoever would join it would be ‘cleaned’. Those who join this party become clean, he said, questioning if there was a ‘good’ or ‘bad’ policy in Sindh. He said it was also perceived that the Rangers and establishment were backing this party.

General Raheel said that there was no ‘good’ and ‘bad’ policy to maintain peace in Sindh. He said no party was being facilitated in Sindh. He said if any party was giving the impression that the army was backing it, then it was a wrong impression. He said a formal statement will also be issued in this regard, if needed. He said they wanted peace in Karachi.

Musfata kamal is hell bent on making another Altaf style MQM in Karachi. He is recruiting the ex militant network of MQM for expanding his influence. And this involves him providing them assurances that they will be given a clean chit by the Rangers. And to be honest, Rangers haven't done anything material to dispel this impression.

If not then sir please back them to break the mqm raw Nexus down to 0

This statement most likely, will send just the opposite impression to people concerned.

Altaf and Zardari have the same mindset plus PPP is thinking of the long term. Instead of MQM, they will lose the karachi mandate most likely to PSP so they started barking early. But whats surprising for me is that the COAS himself addressed the issue directly. Usally its the ISPR to brief or there is a complete silence. I think his retirement is near and he just wants to clear his name and leave on a good note with everyone.

even if army backs it then so wat it backed ppp, pmln, JI, mma, juif, pti, mqm and nationalist parties too anp, & bnp too and psp is a nice party better alternative than mqm i guess...soo chill

With all due respect dear sir.

I doubt it.

The acceptance in the denial.

Raheel Sharif's denial proved without doubt that the Army was behind it.:rofl::rofl:

FA Pass generals aren't smart after all. :D:D:D

Not reliable news as COAS itself can't give this type of briefing to a CM, so better for Waite it Bajwa sahib come up with something.

Muhajirs will never vote for punjab based parties much less punjabi pathan, 2 in 1. Imran Khan doesn't even move beyond Gani Bala and Lahore, Mustafa Kamal actually have chance of winning in Karachi unlike PTI.

Maybe PPP was happy at demise of MQM but now there is alternative for muhajirs to vote for if they wish. Not surprising PPP doesn't like Mustafa Kamal.

Some things have not changed, despite strident claims to the contrary. Illegal meddling in internal politics remains one of them.
