Army jawans allegedly thrash traffic cops in Pune, ransack police station

lol @ cops... 2 days back me ... 2 of my frnds beat up a lawyer... than they called us... we went in the high court and caught the guy again... we were only 7 guys and there were like 200 lawyers... thankfully a frnd of mines dad whose the president of the HC bar came in and escorted us out... we didnt know tht they were about to beat our azz... when they locked the HCs main gate... than an SP came to our college n demanded the list of guys who went in or outside the court to kick the guys ***... coz of lawyers strike in HC multan and other regional lower courts.... me n 15 others got suspended today... pray for us people.. hope they dnt nominate us in an FIR.. fuark they know the plates of my jeep on which we went.. or il get hammered by my father when he finds out.

On topic... it reminds me of a story... SSG trainees are given different intel, reckon tasks during their training.....in short they are sent to major cities n given difficult tasks ..etc

One guy (a captain) was sent to remove a file frm a senior police officers office in his presence... he did... but the police chased him to the house where he and 2 others were hidding... the SHO(Inspector) and his men tried to enter though the door... they somehow manage to take him into the room and beat him up... to end the showdown threatened the police after senior SSG officers incharge came and told them to surrender... they surrendered... now lemme tell u tht they are also "interogated" -tortured and told not to utter a single word and say tht they are students or associated with some company or something in their HQ in an the ancient attock fort... so much tht most of them suffer frm broken bones etc... and are given a "category c" and told to go home..so u can guess what the poor guys go though...

In simple words army thrash cops really bad even at the other end of border. :D

While the incident needs to be condemned the truth is somewhere else and it seems that most here are unaware of why it happened.

Firstly these were Young Officers (YOs) on an introductory training course and were not aware of all the restrictions in Pune. As a result, entering a one way lane does not amount to murder of the law and traffic regulations. It was a mistake and the YOs even paid the fine to the constables on duty (male and a female).

However - and this is important - another male constable standing nearby heard that the YOs were from the CEME and promptly came over and started to use offensive language and tried manhandling them. Why? Because this same cop was given a dressing down for not wearing a helmet by the army authorities when he had come on a bike to the CEME a few days back!!

Now if an army officer is verbally abused and manhandled by a third rate undisciplined cop, what do you expect? Give the cop a friendship band? Now do you guys get it?

Your info is wrong mate.
They did not pay the fine and first badmouthed the lady constable before getting physical with the male police constable.
It seems you are saying exactly what the Army PRO issued to the press. Even the press guys were beaten up [now that you cannot deny as i have heard it from many people there]

I don't know the issue with people here. If police does not do their job its a problem and when they do it is again a problem.
Also, Army people always have problems with following rules made for us civilians it seems.

When army guys are caught driving drunk, they show up at the hearing in court in Army uniform [you can see that in Mumbai District court]. So the judge just lets them out with a fine, whereas others go to jail for at-least a day. If given a sentence of one day, they would create ruckus in the court also there would be all the bad press the army will get. Even the Judiciary understands that.

The case with Armed forces [or uniformed forces in general all over the world] is that a few guys lay down their lives for their country. The others just enjoy on the laurels of those sacrifices from true heroes. What I'm saying is that heroes exist no only in uniforms my friend and also all those who don those uniforms aren't all heroes either.

It is usually the police who starts troubles like these. Traffic police is corrupt as hell, and they usually get rude, and try to be bossy so that the other person gets scared and hands over some money to him to save himself.

Army men in cases like these get even ruder and show these policemen their aukat.

Being a son of an army men, I know, we have been stopped multiple times and given stupid reasons for stopping us. I've personally bribed many policemen to get rid of such situations. I feel ashamed of being Indian at moments like these

Compeletely not true!

The truth is these manner less YO's messed around with 2 lady constables. This story about a traffic cop taking revenge on the army officers is pure crap.

Think about it, why else will the mass public support the cops? The same cops that otherwise everyone hates? Why did the officers attack the journos and break their cameras?

CME officers are the same ones who put a home made bomb in Ten Downing Street pub some 10 odd years ago. Google it.

Dude people are supporting the Cops.
How many times have you seen that.

And all cops are not corrupt as you say. Everyone is stopped by the cops sometime or the other in past.
If you travel late in Mumbai, you are sure to be stopped by cops. They check if you are drunk or not and let you go after that [personal experience mate]. And if people pay the fine, there is never an issue with the cops.

Everyone will agree to one point though, Army guys are always arrogant in public places and they think they are above the rest especially after breaking the law. Some are even confident enough to get away with assaulting others. This comes from the feeling that the Army will protect them from prosecution just to get away from bad press. [Perfect example you have here in this case in Pune].

Also if you don't break the law you don't have to pay the bribe.
