At least during Zia’s time we had the highest gdp growth ever in our history, prevented Indians from starting a war with us while we were engaged with Soviets, used afghan war as a cover an completed nuclear program, defeated soviets in AFG and saved Pakistan from being attacked by them, supported Kashmiri mujahideen and started a new uprising, paved way for Gwadar to be what it is today, strengthened the army heavily, secured top of the line fighters for our airforce, expanded our soft power in the region and many more things.
As if 20 years of non-Taliban led Afghanistan engendered peace and harmony on the Western border...

The way things are progressing Talibs might just mend their relations with the West on equal footings whereas the perennial colonial sepoys will continue to be a source of derision and contempt for their colonial masters.
