What's new

Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa has reached Tehran Iran

New joint agreements on many areas of co-operation being worked on, both civil and military. New levels of friendship on the cards.
Are we looking to sell them something

Since the General himself is visiting with Full Delegation , this might be a big Ticket deal

not gona work

take India-Pakistan multiple that by 100x

if its upto iran or saudis both would have done genocide of each other

yes iran is as bad if not worse than the Saudis

Pakistan needs not to take sides but shouldn't overly engage iran or try to meddle between both as i think it will make our position weaker, let them eat each other if they must

we should engage more with GCC for economical reasons and be silent over what ever happens in iran

dotn expect much economical engagement from iran as they dont like us anyway

one of the reasons is that pakistan is thought to be automatically in sunni group per iranis and iran is upset with what we did in afghanistan as well
Iranians think you're too clever for them!!! However, they deem the Turkish folks are manageable.. ..

Iran- Pakistan , relation is that of two friendly countries who share a border and we need to expand that relation from economic stand point of view and geographically that we have a Universal stand point on Afghanistan security.

Seems logical that we have discussion about a Iran-Russia-Pakistan gas pipeline project and also from Pakistan-Russia business deal it makes sense as we have a pending Gas Refinery project with Russia

Pakistan/Iran have following Agenda to discuss
  • Agreement on timeline for completion for Iran-Pakistan & Russia Gas line
  • Discuss purchase of Electricity for Baluchistan Province
  • Discussion of Free Trade , and Trade of goods between both nations
  • Discussion to find ways to fight the Terrorism emerging in region from Afghanistan
  • Possibly find ways to improve Trade between two nations
  • We might see Iranian Auto makers invited to sell vehicles in Pakistan. Considering both nations share a border the sale of auto to Pakistan should be simple process

As far as the relation between Iran and general , Middle east , that is a discussion ideal for OIC forum for all countries to sit down and solve / resolve their differences

Unstable Iran is not in Pakistan's National Interest. Human crisis in Syria/Afghanistan is example how any adjacent country war effects neighbouring country due to influx of refugee etc and thus there is 0% chance that anyone in Pakistan would like to see images we say from Syria happen in Iran

A Iran-Russia-Pakistan gas line project should ensure a strong regional economic bloc in line with SCO goals

Yes the incompetent party (N-league) don't have anybody else other than NOOORA so COAS is doing the job of a Foreign Minister

I see a lot of Bascaps and sunglasses wearing Iranian honor Guards, Seems to be a necessary equipment, I guess protection from heat and sun!

From Tactical point of view , Pakistan cannot afford to have a unstable war torn Iran on our borders, becasue the refugee crisis and not to mention food crisis the whole region as whole would see due to any war in Iran would impact Pakistan directly.

Iran and Pakistan have had brotherly ties , which are based on mutual respect and great focus on people and culture.

Pakistan maintains , similar ties with other nations in region and thus favors a dialog to discuss all matters of interest on OIC discussion forum between Leaders of nation. This is the whole reason for formation of OIC

Most Pakistanis favor a long term , oil & gas deals with our neighbour nation to help bring down the prices of energy products in Pakistan. It is common sense to have multiple suppliers of oil products

Pakistan has a policy of growing business & economic ties with all nations in region

We do not believe in ideas that an Outsider can come and decide that it is ok to Bomb Iran
for no reason at all

Pakistan /Saudi realtions are warm and are based on brotherhood
however it does not means we favor war between two Muslim Nation (Iran/Saudia) from our stand point of view

Most Pakistanis looked at Syrian human crisis with great suprise and sadness and we do not want a repeat of similar scenes in Iran or any Muslim country
