Army Chief Advocates Military options against Chinese Troops

Probably for the same reason IA and IAF chiefs blurted 2-front war rhetoric...............if everything was going in right direction what was the need for such unprofessional and callous chest thumping by indian military leadership.............by this move china has actually slapped indian military leadership and showed them their right place..............but the fun will start once the Chinese troops go back at their own will.......................then the world will see a chest thumping supa dupa indian pawa that eye balled the Chinese to retreat................LOL

Their media already have something written up.

If India is going to block armour supply trucks, they would have better luck just shoot the troops.

No, no. if Indian troops suddenly shoot at the Chinese, it will be a point of no return. I think, General Sing's options are better. Let the Chinese enjoy the picnic without food supply. It is a good diplomacy.

He will obviously say Yes we are prepared....Next second this statement becomes headlights and breaking news.... and you guys see this as chest thumping...... It is not..... Its generally the way indian media works.... and what ever you see in PDF are from TOI and times now... ...

A military general should not give an interview to the newspapers.

Army Chief General Bikram Singh presented to the Prime Minister and senior cabinet ministers today tougher options that India has to handle the border stand-off provoked by a Chinese platoon pitching tents about 19 km inside Indian territory in Ladakh. A third flag meeting between the two sides yesterday failed to break the deadlock. Beijing has so far insisted that it has not violated the border.Sources said General Singh suggested to the Cabinet Committee on Security that if ordered, the Army can cut off the route through which supplies reach the five tents that the Chinese troops have set up in the Depsang Valley near the Line of Actual Control (LAC), the de facto border.

The Army, has reportedly said, could also counter the Chinese incursion by setting up an Indian Army presence in another area which is contentious or disputed.Another option that General Singh offered, sources said, was that the Army could resume patrolling the border, which has been disrupted by the Chinese presence, skirting the neighbour’s camp though that would take the patrol very close to another Chinese camp at Aksai Chin.

Honking in front of a deaf man? This PM is useless he can hardly take any decision. We need to wait till 2014 and when NaMo comes to power then we will show China what real INDIAN POWER is. Till then :hitwall:

Indian Army can cut Chinese Supply lines: Army Chief Bikram Singh - daily.bhaskar.com

Daulat Beg Oldi (DBO)/ Ladakh: In the wake of Chinese incursion inside the Indian Territory, Indian Army Chief General Vikram Singh offered various military offensive alternatives available with India.

According to Singh, Indian forces can attack the Chinese troops from behind. He said that Indian troops could patrol the Chinese camps through Aksai Chin region.

In a meeting with the Chinese Study Group, Singh gave a briefing about the situation in Daulat Beg Oldi. China Study Group, being presided by Shiv Shankar Menon, is prodding for a possible solution to the problem.

All possible solutions to the problem, military and non-military have been discussed.

A group of 50 People's Liberation Army (China) intruded 19 km inside the Indian Territory on 15 April. The group of soldiers is receiving supplies from Chip Chap base, located 25 km away from the Indian Line of Control.
An entire defence regiment has been posted in the Chip Chap region.

On the Indian side, Indio-Tibetans Border Police (ITBP) has perched its own tents 90 km away. They are being provided supplies by the Indian Army. India has dispatched troops from 5 Ladakh Scouts battalion to the DBO area. Option of dispatching additional troops on the border is also on the anvil.

In the second flag meeting, India also made its stand clear that there should be an unconditional withdrawal of Chinese troops from the Indian Territory as per the agreements signed between the two sides on earlier occasions.

India has also rejected the Chinese proposal to increase the gap between the tents of the two countries saying this would take off the pressure from the Chinese troops.

The two sides are at a distance of 90 metres at the face-off site with around 30 troops present in the Chinese camp.

Singh met the PM at his official residence 7 Race Course Road in the national capital.

Gen Singh had last week visited Jammu and Kashmir and the Ladakh area and discussed the situation with military commanders in the Northern Command.

Earlier, Army chief General Bikram Singh met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

'Hindi-Chinni bhai-bhai' drama continues

Despite all the tensions brewing between the two sides, Indian Army officials were part of the Chinese National Day celebrations, on Wednesday. On the occasion of 1 May, Indian and Chinese army officials jointly took part in the function.
The function started with Chinese national anthem.

During the function, Indian officials did bring up the Daulat Beg Oldi issue, but their Chinese counterpart did not offered a satisfactory answer.

Four Border Personal Meetings are held between India and China annually, to promote goodwill between the two nations.

Get them guys..it is high time..peacefull solutions are not meant for these idiots
We can kick Chinese a$$ in that area but our great politicians headed by a lame duck Prime Minister do not have the balls to do so! And that, my friend, is the reality. Our politicians and bureaucrats have made us into a banana republic.

Its better to attack the troops rather than the armed convoy. The armed convoy is not going to stop for the Indian troops.
