"SPARC" -- Russian company, correct?

Major geo-political shifts (along the lines of the Russians publicly becoming more open to the idea of selling more sophisticated offensive weapons to Pakistan) don't occur overnight, just as aircraft/copter overhaul facilities don't get set up overnight. Perhaps another indication that the MI-35 negotiations between Pakistan and Russia might have a positive outcome ...

NPO SPARC, ZAO was launched on 4 July 2007 on the base of the Saint-Petersburg Aviation Repair Company - the oldest Russian aircraft overhaul plant founded in 1931.

Nowadays, there are three principal lines of the NPO SPARC activity:
  • development and production of new-generation test benches and systems designed for diagnosing and testing the equipment, assemblies and units of different purpose aircraft;
  • engineering development and establishment of service centres for aircraft maintenance and overhaul;
  • training of helicopter flight crews and engineering personnel, as well as turnkey delivery of training centers for our customers;
Our testing equipment is supplied to and successfully operated by the leading Russian helicopter operators, such as GAZPROMAVIA, UTair, ROSSIYA, Nizhnevartovskavia, ORENAIR, Spetsneftegaz, Yamal Airlines; and some foreign companies as well. Such an impressive list of the customers results from our cornerstone striving for the best satisfaction of customer needs. NPO SPARC offers comprehensive solutions for helicopter maintenance and overhaul, as well as for keeping up a high proficiency level of aviation specialists to allow the customer having airworthy aircraft capable to perform any mission assigned.

Yo.

The facility primarily overhaul MI-17s.

i personally think that this setting up has 'something' to do with our recent purchases from the Reds.

. .
They are made also for the coming MI 35 Hind & then soon INSHAALLAH MI 28 Havoc.

. .
Next logical step should be the localised production line of the Mi-17 helis. Local capability to build and overhaul Mi-17s can transform our air lift capabilities.

sirjee similar engines so theoritically Mi-35 can be overhauled at depot level.

.
Pak Army Aviation units should take the lead and start building Helicopter Gunships with the help of Chinese Engineers.

Yeah possibly. Though it's bad to have too many kinds of equipment, difficult to maintain, but in our scenario, with the US befriending and divorcing us at will, i think it's guud to have some diversity.
