Army apprehends Pakistan's Border Action Team attack, security heightened

Obama is coming.

We've grown into the habit of burying 5-6 bodies from your side a day. InshaAllah we shall continue doing that now onwards. Without tanks apcs and fighter jets.

Obama is coming hence precautions.

Obama is coming you need to prepare Fancy pants for Modi so that he can perform in front of him

India - what a stupid country you are! Grow up and stop wearing these pampers.

Assuming you are right to blame Pakistan. then tell me exactly how recent was that?

A paranoid Indian military that is afraid of a boogeyman.

Yes,but to what purpose? Assuming you could actually scare them when they're pop. is 10 times more than yours and their landmass is like 6 or is it 8 times yours and they increasingly manufacture indigenous weapon systems . I don't have the details but this mindset led to 1971 which any unbiased observer would call a DISASTER.

JAMMU: Apprehending attack by Pakistan's Border Action Team (BAT) on forward posts and patrol parties in the run up to Republic Day, Army has sounded an alert along the boundary with Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir.

Battling thick fog, treacherous terrain and unpredictable enemy, soldiers armed with thermal imagers and surveillance equipments are keeping a hawk eye on any movement along the Line of Control.

According to officials, there are intelligence inputs that BATs, which are small groups of specialised Pakistani troops supported at times by terrorists, could strike in the run up to Republic Day, especially as US President Barack Obama will be visiting the country.

"As per Intelligence inputs there is a possibility of Pakistan Army's Border Action Team crossing over into Indian territory and targeting posts," a senior Army officer told PTI.

The BAT could also target Indian patrol parties near the LoC, he said, adding army is keeping a close watch on LoC and troops are vigilant.

"Any such BAT action by Pakistani with covering fire from its border posts would be counted as diplomatic offencive to rake up Kashmir issue," the officer said.

Asked about the possible terror attacks along LoC, Spokesperson of Udhampur based Northern Command Headquarters, Col S D Goswami told PTI that troops are vigilant.

The BAT generally targets patrol teams or isolated posts across the LoC.

"BAT operations are specialised military actions conducted in close vicinity of enemy posts across the LoC and need detailed planning preparation and support," Col Goswami said.

The Line of Control with Pakistan stretches up to 740 km, out of which India has fenced 550 km to stop infiltration and smuggling. The international border stretches to over 180 km in Jammu frontier.

Major BAT attacks were carried out in 2013. On August 6 that year, in an audacious and provocative attack, Pakistani troops had entered Indian territory along the Line of Control in the Poonch sector and ambushed a patrol killing five Indian soldiers.

Pakistani troops on January 8, 2013 had crossed into the Indian territory and ambushed an Army patrol party beheading two jawans Lance Naik Hemraj and Sudhakar at Sarla post along LoC in Poonch.

In May last year, an army jawan was killed and two of his colleagues were injured in an attack by suspected BAT which set off a mine blast and opened fired on a patrol party along LoC near Akhnoor.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Pakistanis on this issue. What's the purpose of articles like these? It sounds too much like bravado, rather than news based on concrete events. Even if all these fears of "BAT teams" are true, they should only be reported and discussed publically after there is tangible evidence for these claims.

Try the "outsider test", and you would know how idiotic such reports make us seem. Try to read this from a foreigner's perspective, or assume that such an article appeared in Pakistani media. What would be your response? To applaud Pakistani forces for their diligence? I'm guessing not.

Our media ought to stop these sensational articles, and write on the real issues - of which there are plenty.

@Xeric I have yet to ever try and catch a Chimgadar. I mean who catches them seriously? And here the Pakistan Army is using them??
First it was pidgeons, monkeys and now bats?
The funny thing is that the 'teams' are supposedly Pakistani, but they have indeed been 'named' by the Indians themselves. Next time i am tasked to form a special team, i'll keep the idea of naming it on animals and birds. Angraizi k number tu miliangay bhai. BTW, we have RATs (Rapid Action Teams) in Sind Rangers, a counterpart to Army's QRFs.

They are coming, they are coming, they are coming, they are coming..... A random Indian soldier on LOC blabbering to himself.
A kashmiri friend of mine actually heard an Indian soldier muttering this to himself. Curiosity got the better of him and he went ahead and asked the soldier why was he doing that. The Indian soldier said, that its too cold to dig the graves to bury the morons crossing over.

Great part in this whole story is that your Kashmiri friend wasn't killed by Indian soldier. This is simply amazing. Since today 21 January is the anniversary of Gawakadal massacre. :)

Yeah.. Even if I try, I cant find a specific date of such massacres in Pakistan, because its every day. PAF has been bombing its civilians for months now

Lately lots of hot air articles from "The Economic Times" are being posted here.

Just checked their page and the red marked part above explained everything.

Yup, now we know which "news" sources are there for laughs, :omghaha:

Oh my sweet buttery Jesus, BATS are coming....

Google search- how to get rid of bats.

.
Nothing, absolutely nothing. Its a 'Boogeyman' Indians have created to spread panic and fear among their ranks. According to Indians the BAT consists of Pakistani Special Forces, Regular Infantry, Rangers and also supported by terrorists. Could not stop laughing while writing this, our Indian friends are indeed a funny bunch.

And they wear special pitch black dungarees to strike out fear in hearts of infidels :partay:
