off-topic but really makes one think that with all the products populating the websites of POF, HIT, NRTC, GIDS etc. not a lot is being exported. either the marketing sucks, or the product does.

This is just my personal opinion, almost in Every nation, which is a prospective coustomer for the above said industries you got Chinese , Turkish and Russians all too.

Pakistani industries should either up the game vis a vis these three or collaborate with them for exports.

Aren't Pinaka Indian version of the same weapon?

if that was indeed the case, armenia would have preferred russian or chinese systems. severe lack of quality marketing is all that stands in the way of successful exports.

yes, teaming up with china will certainly give an edge, but may invite european or american intervention in the procurement process. turkish systems may be a bit expensive for prospective customers. i doubt the russians will partner up with pakistan to sell anything to anyone ever.

I hope our economy starts getting better and people sit together and figure shit out

When that happens we should invest in something JF-17 , collaboration with China or other partners but while still gaining experience

You repeat JF-17 model of collaboration in everything from tank to drones etc

Like we made our drone afaik it was very much a domestic effort but it wasn't the best- buraq and shahpar

Repeat the same thing but make it in collaboration with the Turks or even Iranians- joint collaboration

Even if you are not the one pulling your weight, you'll learn from it

No HIMARS wasn't bought. Its too costly for India to operate. Pinaka is in service since the Kargil War, sure as hell Americans weren't going to give us something like HIMARS then. 😅

China also won some significant contracts in Armenia. 300mm and 273mm heavy MBRLs.

Pinaka is smaller at 214mm , probably to replace their BM27 units.

Sweet spot. The 122 mm is usually cheaper but warhead is very small and anything in 300mm Smerch type category with a bigger warhead is too costly.

Pinaka falls between the two. A significantly bigger warhead than the Grad, but significantly cheaper than Smerch.

Although the breakdown is still not given. Let's see which ATGM is being sold. That will be intersting if Nag is sold. Although considering the cost, it likely will be cheaper Konkurs M.

USA has not supplied India with HIMARs. Pinaka is Indian variant of Russian MRLS
