The reason that Indian arm forces reject Tejas s not because it wants imports, but because it wants quality planes. But Indian government is shoving a piece of crap down the throats of Indian military. Any military that have self respect and decency would reject them. You should praise your military for rejecting those piece of sh*t. They are task with protecting the country, not for scoring political points.

Even if we take ur words(not backed up by any solid evidence whatsoever) at face value and consider JF17 and Al-Khalid complete junk...it's still better in the long run bcuz it builds indigenous capability. Here is a glimpse of the wonders indigenization does...

Below is some of the things that India did to promote its indigenous automotive industry.
- In 1947, the Government of India and the private sector launched efforts to create an automotive-component manufacturing industry to supply to the automobile industry.
- In 1952, the government appointed the first Tariff Commission, one of whose purposes was to come out with a feasibility plan for the indigenization of the Indian automobile industry.
- In 1953, an import substitution programme was launched, and the import of fully built-up cars began to be restricted.

This allowed local Indian companies to make an initial foothold. Although the growth was slow at first but it really took off in the 1990s with the liberalization of Indian market. The local industry was able to form joint ventures with foreign companies and look at where the Indian car manufacturing stands today as opposed to Pakistan's.

So go ahead and call Pakistani indigenous efforts in the defence sector whatever u want. Ur opinions don't change anything. Pakistan should continue on this path...the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

It took 40 years for F-16 to evolve...into the beast it is today... with thousands in service with multiple countries.... but it didnt take f-16 40 years to develop.

They developed the F-16 post induction into the USAF, this helped General Dynamics(Lockheed Martin) stabilize production lines and effectively gave them the capital needed which the US military establishment provided as well.

LM got the patronage hence they were able to do the R&D to keep up with the times.

PAF is doing the same with JFT.

IAF on the other hand is so hopped up on phoren maal and maybe-possibly kick backs that the thought of a competent local product gives them hives.

This happens to people or forces that have too many options, nothing wrong with it, if eurofighter or rafales were an option who would buy the JF 17 and tejas? Or given that armata is open to Indian army who would want Arjun?....I think it makes a lot of sense.
