Arjun Tank for Export? A South American Country Asks for Request for Proposal

100 MBTs!!!!:woot: I hope they don't screw up. This is a big order and an opportunity to gain a foothold in the untapped South American defence market. The competition is tough! But still think the Arjun offers the best bang for the buck amongst its competitors.

India’s reluctance to export military equipment could tip the scales in the favour of international suppliers. The ministry of external affairs had recently turned down a Bolivian request for a line of credit to buy seven Dhruv advanced light helicopters worth over Rs 300 crore from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.

Why the hell GOI is so reluctent to export arms? On the contrary GOI should be aggresive in that nature.

imagine if colombia was to finalise on buying arjun...and the thing gets delayed by like 10 years(as is the case with most DRDO offerings) what an image spoiler that'd be!

.
when i was a kid ,i had seen arjun's picture, and i got a surprise by it,really! they wasted a lot of times to make it work as a real tank, good for us

.
Looks like Chinese always think Indian products are bad in quality.Actually its reverse in India , Actually we use this term "Chinese product" to refer fake products or bad in quality !!! Hey is it the same way you treat Indian products if you come across any in China ?

Something Is call Perfection and Standardization ...and benchmark, I think Indian Army Benchmarks is bit higher then others

The fact that your own army does not want it, speaks for itself. :pop:

Our Army raised under Russian influence, so thats why they want outdated Russian product and moreover Foreign Agents dont want Indian product to be operational

1) Brahmos Missile is the Example: where Army want to Scrap in favor of American tomahawk missile, but didnt discussed due to Dr. Pallai fast response and Showed result to Media.

2) Aksah Missiles was able to scuttle even after the success, They argues that its range is low i.30 km and opted for Isreali 70 km Joint venture , and Guess what???
The person who is responsible for missile development and rejected Akash missile is employed by Israeli company, He done Purposefully..... so that Israeli Missile can pitch in and Israeli getting $$

3) Arjun Tank, So Successful, that Army afraid that if they face Trial with t- 90 then Russian $$ will stop so they delayed trial and give order to Russia , those general is under Russian influence

No. I would like a machine that can cross a weak bridge and can drive 500 km without refueling or changing the whole army's logistics.

buna gabriel.

IF you have own machine which can cross a little better than that ( week bridge ) and can drive 450km without refuelling or changing whole army's logictics. and which is made just for you - desgined for your terrain your climate and your needs.
and will be reliably there for you anytime you need since its your own and you dont have to take all the way to other side of world to get it repaired or developed futher such as go for : Automatic target tracking, detection avoidance systems------i would go for - Arjun.
Hydropneumatic suspension also gives it an edge

During the time of war army thinks they must hav light sophisticated but lethal weapons into its artillary..... m not negating DRDO ventures developing a high class MBT for the army but it seems worthless incomparison to the Russian tanks coz they r light in weight n easily carry anywhere...... If DRDO gets success in reducing weight n other things then no doubt it will be more lethal ..... I m under Russian Influence .....

rhythem most tanks are above - 55 kg of waight i think arjun with current waight is not very heavy yes operational rage should go up - if we want to sell it against other tank of high quality - But there too price does matter if we can get them a cheaper option they should go for it.

I think we can still develop when arjun is in service. or under construction for army.

T-99 - Weight ~54 tonnes

MERKAVA ---Weight 65 tonnes

CHALLENGER 2 ----Weight 62.5 tonnes

M-1 ABRAHAM Weight 67.6 short tons (61.4 metric tons)

LEOPARD Weight 62.3 tonnes

ARJUN Weight 58.5 tonnes
