Argentina : First export customer for JF-17?

Argentina will not attack Falkland Islands but the dispute is still present. The British still clinging to a dying empire, move aide Britain, let other nations now make their make, you are like an old man holding up the queue.

There is no such thing.... i personally made discussion with Argentinians upon the issue of Falk Islnds, they seem to have accepted the ground reality that UK occupy the Islands. even UK knows it.
BTW.. they have local name for Falk Island and i had difficulty to start the discussion, due to lack of this knowledge.
its just bad press targeting JF-17 exports, as usual.

Ideally, Argentina should focus on getting a mix of Su-35BM (in limited numbers), backed by either MiG-35 or FC-1s if they are on offer.

Certainly, Argentina is a middle income country and can afford these fighters which are good alternates to European jets.

Argentina is not idiot to attack falklands with 20 JF-17 but RAF worried and accepting that JF-17 is a good fighter is a massive boost for JF-17 @Horus

Argentines won't attack; they will have the muscle to overfly the islands. UK is just too far to hold any logistics supply chain and without a carrier, they are more vulnerable than ever.

What's more. This time Argentina has the solid support of Brazil, Venezuela and other fellow South American countries.

So its chinas export and pakistan have no share in it ? Or both have a share ?

So there is a good chance that the first air-to-air combat for the Thunders might end up being on the other side of the world, against British fighters.

British accepting that JF-17 is a good Jet is a massive boost

Very little chance for that, but it would be a great booster for Argentinian Air force as it would be used as a deterrent with BVR capability.

ALL FOR END TO FOREIGN AID TO ARGENTINA AS IT BUYS FIGHTER JETS FROM CHINA
Call For End To Foreign Aid To Argentina As It Buys Fighter Jets From China - Breitbart

The procurement of Chinese aircraft is worrying; they are modern, fast and very capable,” said an RAF source.

“However, we have a robust capability in the Falklands and I imagine that de Kirchner is trying to reinforce her military to strengthen her foreign policy at the negotiating table.”

Justin Bronk of the Royal United Services Institute think tank said: “Argentina had been negotiating for Russian aircraft, but in fact the Fencers they were looking at are very outdated if you are looking to hold the Falklands, and they have a very poor record for aftersales service for customers.

“China’s JF-17 is based on the old Soviet Union’s Mig 21, the backbone to the Soviet air force, so it has excellent pedigree.

“But it is cheaper than what Russia has to offer, brand new, and has a good reputation for being reliable and having an extremely wide armament fit.

“It is the non-Western equivalent to the Swedish Gripen, which Argentina originally tried to acquire through Brazil before the deal was stopped by Britain because it contained 30 per cent British parts.

“It would certainly allow Argentina’s air force to fly over Port Stanley, though it’s no match for RAF Typhoons and its pilots don’t have the asymmetrical training that RAF has.

These aircraft are not for deterrence, since they want to TAKE the Falkland Islands. Deterrence is when you want to defend.

Sell them some Ra'ads with reduced range of 250km ( any longer range missiles are banned for export under international law). We can call them Ra'ad-A(for argentina).

UKIP MEP Nathan Gill said it was “inconceivable that Britain has contributed £7 million to Argentina in foreign aid, via a £50 million EU aid programme.”

“In the light that Argentina has now purchased Chinese fighter jets, all aid to Argentina must be cancelled immediately.

“It is an insult to veterans of the Falklands war, those who lost loved ones and the hard pressed British tax payer for this government is funding the Kirchner regime.”

@Manticore @sancho One question.

The internal fuel of LCA Mk.1 is around 2458 kg in compare to 2230kg and 2270kg of JF-17 and Gripen C/D.

But still the combat range of Mk.1 is around jus 300 KM in compare to 1300 KM of JF-17 and 800 Km of Gripen. Thats mind boggling stats, it means Mk.1 has 20% range of JF-17 with similar fuel load.

How is that possible, inefficient turbofan or drag issues?

The conditions under which these calculations have been done have not been mentioned by the company-- so while making the above graphs I used data available as such. There are also the arguments that that 1] delta fighters need more thrust engines to take care of the higher drag whereas not the case with jft -- 2] rd93 uses less fuel
